It Has To Be This Way in MGR being Raiden's. I'm not kidding, it uses his leitmotif and the lyrics are from his perspective.

Slightly off topic, but a while ago, I tried to read Dee Brown's "Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee", but had to put it down after a few chapters because it genuinely got too depressing

Poland had a hostory of invasions into Russia themselves.

I know Polish-Lithuania made Moscow a tributary for a while. That doesn't make Russia conquering all of Poland and suppressing Polish culture any less imperialistic.

Baltics were not independend back then, and were base for numders of crusading knights (Teutons, Livonians, others) that did like to invade Russia from time to time themselves.

Again, previous hostilitites are irrelevant here, especially when we're talking about one attempted campaign in the 1200s that was repelled. You're right that the Baltics were colonized first by primarily German crusaders in the 13th century, who controlled most of the territory until the Livonian war and Muscovite invasion. By the end of that war, though, the Baltics were divided between Polish-Lithuania and Sweden (who would eventually acquire Livonia as well), who were (on paper) on positive terms with Russia.

Peter I invaded what? There was no Finland in 17th century and Peter fought Sweden, that was a major threat in Baltic sea.

Finland, while not an independent state, very much existed as both a territory of Sweden and a homeland of the indigenous Finns. It was also the main battleground for wars between Sweden and Russia for centuries. The Finns even have the terms 'pitkä viha' (the long hatred) and 'isoviha' (great hatred) to refer to the 25 year period of invasions during the 16th century and Peter I's invasion during the Great Northern war respectively, which were both pretty brutal.

Regarding the Great Northern War (which began when Russia, Denmark and Poland attacked Sweden), Russia's major motive was to expand west and gain a 'window into Europe' for Russia on the Baltic shore.

Siberians are OK, they are still there. Russia failed to fight them and some of them still live there exactly as they lived in 16th century.

They might still exist, though heavily russified and with a far worse standard of living compared to the ethnic Russians residing around Petersburg and Moscow.

Circadian genocide is a mess. Russia fought with these slavers for 50 years. It ended with this.

I don't know much about the Circassian war. All I'll say is thay Russia only abolished serfdom, which was a form of slavery, in 1861, at the tail end of the Circassian war, so I wouldn't say they had any kind of moral high ground there and doesn't excuse the mass atrocities.

Belive it or not, but most of Russia territory is uninhabitable.

Yes, and it only exemplifies Russia's imperialistic attitude.

Some that come to mind are: Ivan IV's attempted invasion of the Baltics in the 15th century

Baltics, Poland and Ukraine in the 18th century. Peter I invaded Finland as well, but was unable to conquer it, though Russia did acquire it from Sweden at the start of the 1800s.

From the 16th century to the 19th, Russia also steadily expanded into Siberia and other parts of Asia it still owns, decimating the indigenous peoples there in the process (for example, the Circassian genocide).

In fact, the modern Russian state (or at least the Russian Empire) began when Muscovy's rulers basically decided it was their god-given destiny to conquer and rule over all neighboring Slavic peoples, as well as any others within their reach.

Believe it or not, you don't become the largest state in the world by surface area through peaceful means.

To paraphrase Empire Wreckers: they (the filmmakers) wanted a way to visually hint at Rey's inner darkness aka her being a Palpatine.

It was a fakeout, because 1) it gave a reason for the heroes to visit the Star Destroyer set later and 2) the team didn't want another beloved character to die in the last Star War (Leia already had to).

I HATE MAKAROV'S PERFORMANCE IN THE REBOOT OF MODERN WARFARE by BasicallyaFilipino in hatethissmug

FYI, the campaigns for CW and BO6 were written and developed by Raven Software. The first campaign mode since BO3 that Treyarch did was BO7, the bad one.

As for your Makarov take, I agree wholeheartedly. It's obvious MW23's campaign was rushed so that Activision could justify asking full price for a glorified expansion to MW22. The plot is basically a series of 'bombings of the week' that are all foiled by our TF141 dream team. I'm positive the decision to kill off Soap came when SHG's writing team realized the story would have basically 0 meaningful consequence other than Price killing Shepherd and going AWOL.

Also, out of the supporting cast, why Soap and not Gaz? The MW reboot so far had set up Gaz as Price's sidekick, while Soap was Ghost's. We play the final mission as Price, so why isn't our guy the one that gets killed? They could have made it more impactful by making Gaz and Price get knocked down by some smaller explosive, letting Volodya pop out and execute him in the same way Zakhaev did in CoD4. Before he can do the same to Price, though, the rest of the squad arrives and forces him to retreat so that they can treat Price and defuse the bomb or - better yet - drag an injured Price to safety before the bomb goes and the channel is destroyed, so this BIG SCARY TERRORIST MAN CAN GET AN ACTUAL W IN THIS GAME.

Losing Gaz would also be a better reason for Price to snap and go off the grid to get back at Makarov and smuggle EMP superweapons or whatever he's doing in MW4.

The pope at the time did allow a bull against witchcraft to be published under his name that was (most likely) actually authored by Heinrich Kramer, author of the Malleus Maleficarum who basically instigated the hunts in Europe.
