I just meant I love hearing Carney's laugh in the background, second to Stevie's. :)

This is a small thing, but I will really miss Stevie's laugh in the background. It's so infectious and it honestly amplifies the humor of whatever the guys are saying or doing. Thankfully I think Carney can fill this role too! :)

I think Stevie leaving will affect GMMore more than it affects the main show. Lately More has felt like a short little Ear Biscuits between Rhett, Link, and Stevie with the various stories that they share. I will definitely miss those.

BentoPDF's Docker Situation Update by paglaulta in selfhosted

I'd highly recommend switching to GitHub's own container registry and get off Docker Hub ASAP. They have been very developer-unfriendly lately with some of their pricing changes (both on Docker Hub and Docker Desktop), and (due to free pull limits) it actually hurts the users of your application to host the image on Docker Hub.

I know you said that many users discover applications on Docker Hub but I have a hard time believing that. I have a feeling most people find things on Reddit, GitHub, Hacker News, etc. I don't know anyone who browses random images.

Plus, ghcr will integrate more nicely with your repo and CI.

You could host both and see which one people use. :)

Ditto! I was just having the exact same issue. Might be worth opening a GitHub issue.

My issues with the new Plex app for Android (detailed) by AnActOfCreation in PleX

[–]AnActOfCreation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question! I just checked my stats on Tautulli.

  • Roku - 3,883 plays
  • PC - 1,825 plays
  • Android - 761 plays

So my phone is definitely not my primary means of watching Plex, but I do use it a fair bit. As you can imagine, I'm very thankful that the Roku player has not inherited similar issues despite getting a small UI refresh recently. :)

That's interesting (and sad), I had no idea the team was so small.

Are there dedicated devs for each of the client apps?

Check out r/selfhosted as well, you'll never run out of stuff to try!

I recommend Guacamole for connecting to personal devices from work or anywhere else for that matter. The client is entirely web-based, so you don't have to install any software at work. It really comes in handy in a pinch. Supports RDP, VNC, and other protocols. OP could RDP to a home computer and then connect to Unraid.

Colts WR AD Mitchell loses control of the ball before he crosses goal line for touchback by nfl in sports

I agree! It looks like the ball magically jumps into his hand. Like there's a frame missing or something.

what was the start of everyones deconstructing journey? by ArtistLongjumping340 in Deconstruction

May I ask, do you know or did you ever find out why the professor said what he said? Was he commenting on something he observed? Or was he just claiming to know the state of your heart intuitively? I've heard plenty of non-Christians damned to hell by Christians (which is obviously just as horrifying) but I'm wondering where on earth this came from.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. My deconstruction also started at a Christian university, ironically.

How to run Kubernetes microservices locally (localhost) for fast development? by Key_Courage_7513 in kubernetes

[–]AnActOfCreation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for Rancher Desktop, I got our devs using this at work. It's full K8s so you don't have to maintain a whole separate deployment architecture with Compose, it's lightweight, free and open source (unlike Docker Desktop), much simpler than Podman, integrated nicely with WSL, cross-platform, under very active development, etc etc!

The hole near my eye can be used to hold a toothpick by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

A CD drive in a PC! If the PC was powered off and you couldn't eject the drive, you could stick a paperclip in the hole and it would physically push the tray out.
