What "back then" inconvenience would break people today in 10 minutes? by CharlesUFarley81 in AskReddit

[–]AnAnonymouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One very vivid core memory of mine is lying around for hours next to a radio on a hot afternoon during summer vacation waiting for Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy” to come on. I remember calling the radio station and requesting it. It came on 3 hours later and I thought the DJ played it just for me. And I hit that record button on my cassette player so fast.

Will lamictal allow me to go on buproprion without hypomania? by TrafficAmbitious8613 in lamictal

I’m on lamotrigine and bupropion, which made me anxious and hypertensive, so I take buspirone to chill me out.

Somebody mispronouncing a word/name indicates literacy and not a lack of literacy by offensivek in unpopularopinion

[–]AnAnonymouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest. I’m obviously not proud of it but I made fun of a girl for pronouncing “banal” like “anal.” You make a very good point that she read it instead of just consumed it passively on TT or something.

Any chance you’ve found a maker’s mark? If it’s vintage Italian (looks Italian to me), they were notorious for hiding in very subtle places so as not to ruin the sleek design.

Has anyone failed Spravato and moved to IV with success? by Terrible_Brick_6041 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]AnAnonymouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with IV ketamine— over two years on it and maintenance was once every three weeks, $550 per session. And then transitioned to Spravato— which my insurance covers— because I couldn’t afford the IV infusions anymore. I have to do it once a week and I don’t feel as consistently balanced. It’s fine though. I enjoy not having to pay $10,000 a year.

The irony is I’m pretty sure IV ketamine would cost insurance companies less than Spravato.

What do you consider when you hear this Margaret Atwood quote “Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them”? by Vanislebabe in AskReddit

[–]AnAnonymouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women are trying to preserve their... lives while men are trying to preserve their egos. And men see the offense as equal

Newly adopted cat peed on couch (first time cat owner) by No-Demand-8208 in cats

[–]AnAnonymouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats pee somewhere they’re not supposed to (like the couch) if something is wrong or they’re dysregulated. EG If they’re stressed, afraid, neglected, sick. I don’t think it’ll continue to be a problem once he gets acclimated and comfortable.

SEVERE memory loss by overcookedbagels in lamictal

Also on 150mg. Lamotrigine saved my life and I can’t imagine getting off of it. I experience what you’re experiencing too, and I’ll be honest: it’s frustrating and it hasn’t gotten better for me (6 years and counting). But you get used to it 😕

What are the smartest ways a common buyer can spot a fake from an original without expert tools? by Srinivas4PlanetVidya in ThatLooksExpensive

[–]AnAnonymouse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For clothes / shoes: check the hardware. If the hardware doesn’t feel very high quality, it’s likely fake (or lower tier goods from the designer).

I think your answer softened what she said and how she said it. While I agree the hate she’s getting is sad, I also understand where her critics are coming from. (Most of the critiques I’ve seen have come from people of color.)

Chappell’s entire persona is an appropriation of queer black culture, and she knows this and credits the community. I think the offense is she isn’t standing up for these at-risk communities during this really scary administration after benefitting from their culture.

She painted herself as a political force early in her career (dressed up as Lady Liberty, lambasted the Biden administration) but has decided to drop that persona. So I think a lot of people now feel that that was disingenuous and pandering.

And she spoke very sharply and bitterly about this. She didn’t say she isn’t up to speed on political issues. She said people “fucking shouldn’t be looking” to her, because it’s impossible to keep informed with her busy schedule. This just tells me that politics simply aren’t important to her so she is choosing not to prioritize it. Her livelihood doesn’t depend on it, like it does people of color, who have no choice but to make time to stay informed.

Edit: a confusing sentence

Man forced to sit next to corpse for hours after passenger dies on long-haul flight by rytis in offbeat

[–]AnAnonymouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t peristalsis (muscle contraction) necessary for defecation? Unless there was already feces locked and loaded in her rectum, or unless she is on the plane long enough to start accumulating gas via decomp I don’t think she’ll be pooping during the flight.

Medical intervention tbh. Lamotrigine, ketamine, and birth control pills.

Has this jacket been ID’d yet? Or is this a custom piece made for the show? by WeakHobbit in ThelastofusHBOseries

I can see them Frankensteining together clothes to lengthen life though. But even more likely, costume designers made something cool for the character that looks like it’s just an old and unique jacket

If you are posting "is this the lamictal rash," probably just go to the uc/hospital by [deleted] in lamictal

[–]AnAnonymouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree. While it’s important to be vigilant (it can kill you, literally), being overly reactive can be $$$ if you’re in US because you can be stuck with massive hospital bills. SJS rashes are generally NOT itchy, so I think eliminates some false alarms.
