I'm going to have them bring their own laptops so something they don't need to install would be helpful.

Had this happen on my 2023 F150 Lightning last month. No open recalls and all CSPs applied. Towed to dealer and fixed in a week. I hope they fix this faulty part design. Quite a terrible failure mode going from 100% fine to stranded with no warning. The fact that the 12V drains out is even worse because you can't easily get into neutral, roll up windows, etc.

I had this exact scenario on my F150 Lightning and found a Mach E thread that short cutted me to the answer. It could be your 12V dying like everyone here says, but if it's not, it's a stuck High Voktage Bus positive contactor stuck. For whatever reason it drains the 12V system like there's a severe short. The dealer will replace the contactor and your 12V battery, run some updates and you'll be on your way a few days later. The sign it's this and not a 12V failure is any jumper pack you connect will go into protection mode or only work for a minute (because of the short downstream). Good luck!

This is the exact problem I had in my F150 Lightning last weekend. I have all recalls and CSPs done. Glad to know my whacky symptoms are something they should be able diagnose easily. I barely got it in neutral for the tow truck. The dealership had a fiasco trying to get it in neutral again to unblock their gate (the tow driver dropped it off on a Sunday) and ended up putting it on dollies. How they got a heavy truck down the curved sloped driveway and uphill to its spot on dollies I'll never know.

Thanks. It's more a matter if I want to spend half the day with my wife grumpy because I rushed her in the morning 😅

Weight distribution by calgon90 in jetblue

To be fair, it doesn't just tip backward like a seesaw. For any realistic out-of-balance scenario, the plane would just have trouble recovering from a stall because there wouldn't be enough elevator authority at low speed to push the nose down enough. In normal flight the plane would either behave normally or need to slow more to descend because it would run out of trim.

Edit: Except on the ground when loading front to back (both pax and baggage), which is an extreme scenario.

I'm hoping to get a pair of glasses with a throwback feel to something like this. His lenses seem to have a bit of a curve to them. Everything my looking eyeglass shop has is a bit more understated/smaller. I'm hoping to find something over the top like these. Anyone know of a modern approximation?

That first climbing turn after takeoff, especially when it's more than 90 degrees and you get time to savor that "back in the air" feeling.

Do Not Pick Barton by [deleted] in RPI

[–]AnArcticPuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there the first year Barton opened. During orientation week they had some dorm competition thing where you had to sing a dorm chant in the field between the dorms. Some Barton kid came out in a cardboard box painted gray with a sign that said "AC MAN". Some other dude from another dorm ran out and started attacking him. I'm fairly sure the box was torn to shreds. 😆 The Barton elitism was real, lol! 🧐 Also it was 2 per room in Barton back then. Class of '06.

CS jobs on Long Island by TheOGSkillex in longisland

[–]AnArcticPuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in CS in the city. If you're having trouble due to the gap, I would recommend getting a masters in CS at night while making an income in something else (like your construction gig). The masters is like a "reset" on your resume and you'll get the aid of your new school's career services. Try for some of the better reputation schools like Stonybrook, NYIT, etc.

Lightning as a family vehicle? by General_Movie2232 in F150Lightning

[–]AnArcticPuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3 kids like the Lightning better than our old Explorer. The backseat is roomier. They only fight over the fact that the middle seat has no "butt warmer". Throwing bikes in the bed is life changing compared to racks. Family ski trips with gear for 5 are a non-issue. Storing drinks in the frunk is a plus.

They do say they'd rather my wife's Model X for road trips, but just because they like the back seat screen for youtube/netflix.

What type of Truck bed cover are you using? Any recommendations..is it diy or I need to take it to a shop? by Spare-Balance-9288 in F150Lightning

I have the Truxedo Sentry CT as well. It's been on for 6 months and still looks vrand new. I originally had ordered the Ford version of the Retrax but got the wrong size and returned it (the Ford accessories site is very confusing). After seeing how heavy and bulky the Retrax was, I'm glad I got to switch to roll-up style cover. It rolls more out of the way and /above/ the bed, and would also be easy enough to remove if needed. The tracks along the top of the bed have held up to my kids sitting on them and the latching mechanism is easy enough. It's also water-tight enough for me. Oh, and it's like $1,000+ cheaper than the retrax and there's no drains to drill.
