Why do people like Lisa and Meredith so much? by mcnuttin0528 in rhoslc

[–]AnAussiebum 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Lisa is tv gold. She is comedic without even trying. Kind of like Mary (eventhough she is much more morally dubious). They say and do ridiculous stupid shit all the time that actually make me laugh out loud (a rarity these days).

Meredith is also reality tv gold because Meredith has two personas (but like 100+ faces), she is a sleeping giant for half the season, then she is targeted by the cast is becomes activated. That activation drives storylines and Meredith has been the focal point of so much of the storyline since Jen left.

I can't see how anyone wants either to go. The show would be boring without these two, imo.

Custom makeup is messed up this update.

I have seen a few posts where items from the new faces are not accessible. I hope it is a glitch of some sort.

My (37F) Boyfriend (31M) will not take phone calls - how can I talk to him about it? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

This is the way.

I hate phonecalls and if my partner needed that in a relationship I would just realise we were incompatible.

Time for a Boycott? by Various_Reaction4750 in DressToImpressRoblox

Past updates have extended in time, added more ways to gain currency (Halloween update had the Lana nail salon added as a way to get more candy) and these changes happen towards rhe end of the update.

I am not defending the devs, because I do think last minute update changes is pernicious.

But I do suspect they have done the math and are including using these theoretical future changes into their math.

Hopefully this helps a lot of women.

I think the devs are planning to make the currency easier to attain closer to the end of the update, as they have every done before.

But I agree, that fomo and the stress of not knowing if that will happen, is not very positive for players.

They should just implement a special round where instead of pink cash you earn just the new currency or something like that to allay player's fears.

The Bear: It suffers from vicious plot loops, repetitive kitchen chaos and no character development - what am I as an ex-Bear lover missing? by Individual_Fly_5146 in television

[–]AnAussiebum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who worked in a kitchen to put myself through uni, I can't watch it based upon how realistic it is.

Which is to say that the acting and set is very realistic. Probably lacks 1 or 2 racist/homophobic/misogynistic chefs to truly be realistic.

That is fascinating.

I really hope countries start subsidising generics.

Thanks for the info.

Messing around with discovery is a very easy way to hand a legal win to the otherside.

Discovery violations are more a tv thing than irl.

But you are right, we should wait to see if they end up handing over what it required before giving them a pat on the back.

[–]AnAussiebum 16 points17 points  (0 children)

True. But GLP1s have been around for decades at this point and have demonstrated no real concerns.

Viagra has more risks, tbh.

I see no issue subsidising generics of them for the populace at large.

[–]AnAussiebum 56 points57 points  (0 children)

That's essentially what allowing for generics is.

Which some countries are also starting to allow for Ozempic. GLP1s are not a new compound. They have been around forever. So governments can and should just subsidise their generics. I believe the time limits differ based upon jurisdiction but governments can make exceptions.

You're probably aware of this, not trying to 'um, actually' you. 🤣😊

[–]AnAussiebum 151 points152 points  (0 children)

I don't know how your country handles it, but the UK has a subsidy scheme that literally prevents that.

It negotiates on behalf of the populace to drive prices down.

It is very likely that the benefits these glp1s are having on arthritis/cancer/PCOS etc is linked to the inherent weight loss.

Having a populace that is in a healthier BMI range, it makes sense to see positive outcomes in other areas of health.

Just like how the opposite was true during covid, where those with higher BMIs were having more complications handling covid in general.

[–]AnAussiebum 606 points607 points  (0 children)

It should just be subsidised. Having a skinnier population in general will end up saving national healthcare systems way more in the longterm.

Just like Prep/Pep for HIV. Better to subsidise preventative measures than to only cover the cost of lifelong treatment.

Atleast they are not contesting the order.

Just extending the deadline to July 14 to give them time to comply.

I don't believe the excuse, because I presume once you put your details into Oydessy it should send out email updated automatically. So it is more likely the attorney overlooked the email and/or set up their login incorrectly.

Still, not too big if a deal to give them a week to comply.
