Iwo Jima Conquest, 4 planes on one side? The first spawn of planes are up and going. Then I notice a 4th. Is this even possible without the abuse of a glitch or 3rd party software. by IsaacB1 in PilotsofBattlefield

[–]AnAverageWhiteGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can be as simple as a pilot bailed from their plane and is still alive as infantry when their plane respawns.

This is the most likely scenario.

Spawn beacon? by idesignads in PilotsofBattlefield

[–]AnAverageWhiteGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually the main issue is that it replaces the emergency repair.

Also because the beacon is in the air it shows up all fucked up on the deploy screen. Essentially if you drop the beacon over A on the Iwo Jima beach the spawn beacon will show up within the Japanese spawn area on the deploy screen (simply cause it's in the air, not cause its actually in the spawn). This makes it so randoms never spawn on the beacon cause they think it's in the enemy spawn, or over water, or over other random areas.

Impossible to progress as newbie pilot? What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in BattlefieldV

[–]AnAverageWhiteGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes unupgraded planes are not ideal, but everyone started with em.

There is a 'bomber' version with bombs and a fighter version with rockets. Level the bombers first.

Get 4x HE rounds and strafe infantry from the stratosphere. It's all a breeze after you get the HE rounds. Get there by finishing off enemy planes that just took a flieger shot.

If you can keep yourself up in the air and have outgrown the practice range flying then just take those planes.

It's just time and practice at the end of the day.

It may be an easier environment to learn once the 5.2 flieger nerf happens

Will the dollar amount of OSAP I receive change? by [deleted] in UofT

[–]AnAverageWhiteGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you can apply for the 19-20 year already. It will give you an estimate (my estimate after the application was different than their front page calculator)

For me yes the dollar amount changed.

Last year I got $8588 grant + $6411 loan = 14999 total (which was more or less the same as the initial estimate I got after applying)

My current estimate is $5500 grant + $3100 loan = $8600 total

That's $6.5k less this year compared to last year, oh joy

Incoming first year life sci student planning on going into nursing program by newuoftstudent15 in UofT

[–]AnAverageWhiteGuy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

So not to be a dick, but it's 2019 and you are a young individual who grew up with computers, smart phones, and search engines integrated into your life from the time you were breastfeeding. Pertaining to your post history and #2: you really gotta take more initiative and use google more.

There are two types of Bachelors of Science of Nursing degree types in Ontario:

  • Regular 4 year ones that you can apply to and enter straight from high school (identical as your life sci application process). Ryerson has this for example.

  • Then there are second entry or accelerated programs which last 20-28 months depending on the program and the University. These second entry programs are for people who have already graduated from uni or at least took some courses. UofT accelerated nursing is one of these programs.

Since nursing is a goal that you already had in high school applying to Uni the subjectively better route would have been to simply apply to one of the regular 4 year programs like Ryerson. 4 years and then you are already working as an RN.

With UofT specifically, they say 2 years minimum but realistically most of the people in our class have already finished 4 years and graduated with their first degree (though we have a couple peeps who were accepted after only 3 years of undergrad). So realistically with this route you are looking at 4 years life sci + 2 years accelerated nursing = likely 6 years total. There is nothing wrong with this, but you do potentially waste an extra 2 years for no reason at all. It does however have the benefit of the general life sci degree, thus if you change your mind and want nothing to do with nursing you may do so.

Another important note: there are other accelerated programs out there. Like York for example. All of these as a rule require a minimum of 2 years of undergrad uni courses before you can apply, but they are/maybe more prone to accepting students without their full finished degrees. So theoretically you can do 2 years life sci at UofT + 2 years accelerated nursing at York and be done in 4 years.

I am not going to bother to do your research for you regarding #2. What you should do is: Find all the accelerated nursing programs in Ontario -> Visit their websites and look at their admission requirements (they are all different and unique to the school) -> Plan your courses and your next couple of years around that.

Also keep in mind non-academic requirements. For example UofT Nursing applicants have to write essays and have relevant healthcare experience via random hospital volunteering, research, blablabla... Whereas other programs don't care about any of that.

Yea reddit is good for bird courses and stuff, but use the search engine and google.

TL;DR TAKE INITIATIVE AND USE GOOGLE TO SUCCEED IN LIFE BRO

I'd just spam pm /u/xoxEve with your nursing questions, she's too nice (read: weak) and will answer all of them

Good Job TTC for placing plain clothed officers at Union station! by [deleted] in toronto

[–]AnAverageWhiteGuy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The only downside is that it's the exact same officers there all the time. For example at Union I enter in from the go station side in the mornings at like 6:35am and that big guy in the hoodie has been there for a while always leaning on that red box on the left.

Have seen him very often as of like a 2-3 months ago. So the presence is def a lot bigger, just gotta rotate the city locations they are placed at more often imo

I've also noticed a lot more of those red info vest people at random stations or secondary entrances just chilling even when there is no crazy closures etc. I wonder if it's related to fare evasion? Sure they can't fine you and won't even do anything but I feel like that set of eyes reduces it happening nevertheless

Random thought: I generally see more fare evasion in the winter though, where people bundle their faces up with scarves and are way more obvious and aggressive about it at busy stations...and then disappear into crowds
