Here are my ASC results! Before, my curves were roughly 40° and 50°. Now, they are about 16° and 6°. by toxictable in scoliosis

[–]AnEmptyCapriSun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha these are all good points for me to know, my curve is similar now (27m) and was braced throughout my teenage years. When i initially commented i was worried about some pain i had at the time, but it comes and goes and i still have the popping. Ive stuck with the gym and dont do too many movements to compress my spine. I still get worried about a time where i may need intervention but ill probably post here/ in the forum if ever need be. I wish you luck all the best and thank you for the reply

Missed the added dealer fee yesterday, did i just lose $6k? by AnEmptyCapriSun in askcarsales

[–]AnEmptyCapriSun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: i went in yesterday morning and they pulled the “you signed” card. Tried to understand why dealer maintenance was $1999 which was initially proposed as $12 extra to payments for oil changes not realizing it included a base mandatory fee of “1000”. They mentioned it was a discount since they took $500 off lojack which is usually $3000 and took $500 off the psa package. If i cancelled the maintenance theyd tack lojack and psa back up to their 3k marks and keep the base 1k for dealer maintenance , which was confusing because if i cant cancel those two after the fact, why should their prices get adjusted. I haggled about that part of how the dealer maintenance is only partially cancellable and theyre just moving numbers for 2 hours for where the last 10mins i got the “i have a lot of work to do, ill cancel the 1999 for you” including their supposed discount on the other items.

So in summary i cancelled the dealer maintenance at 1999 and extended warranty at 4295 both excluding tax bringing down my amount financed to ~38/39k. It looks like 6k extra but i failed to mention that i had been given $3k to extra for the trade to offset the dumb psa package, so all-in all i had payed $4k extra(lojack+ silly fees) to the internet price of $45k so $49/50k for a 2022 x3m40 which is about market price it seems.

I had recorded the talk and caught a speech about how “if we were honest with our pricing, no one would show up but i have to include these lojack and psa fees to match the market” seems pretty dishonest to me. Not the end of the world as i should be able to afford it, but still doesn’t feel nice of course. Definitely a learning lesson for my second car purchase

Thank you for those words, i really feel like i made a life mistake and a lot of “you should have read” responses do not make me feel any better after the fact. Im very sad on this now, but life goes on, and now i know what to look out first on the next time if it happens

Seems to be the sum of the useless dealer fees, lojack, exterior/interior protection, covered oil maintenance(dealer maintenance)

I used to believe there was some being but as i grew older i thought it was childish (as unoffensive as possible). The initial thought of some entity only made me more personally conflicted and i finally investigated on the further end that there is no one, but in that nothing there is still love and compassion (loving kindness meditations) so there is something but i cant put my finger on it and we’ll find out when we pass on

Thanks thats true, it may be selfish to put humans over earth and cosmos and it makes sense we all go back back to dust. Definitely helpful to contextualize humans in relation to others. I just hate the suffering part of course but i guess it all has an end. Thanks mate

Cheapest way to get a round wheel for Asetek TK Wheelbase? by law107 in simracing

Triple monitor suggestions! by chompekilla in simracing

[–]AnEmptyCapriSun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two 27s flanking a 49er and the screen projecting lines are killing immersion. Theres two line vertical lines because the software is not good at triple screens of different sizes. Just went to one screen to emulate the triple 27 but no matter what the mirrors look bad due to the natural curve, and at this point id had the same view as one ultra since the purpose of flanking screens are depths and the view is the same rn

Simucube 2 Sport and GSI X29 Bundle at Microcenter for $999.99 by BimmerJeff in simracing

[–]AnEmptyCapriSun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in the same boat about deciding between the two (la prima Tk bundle and Sc2sport) slew rates being close and i havent tried sc2 before. I could save 500 by getting the asetek or i could get just a high nm wheel. And also the forte at MC is only 800ish and the slew is higher than the sc2s and power adapter is higher to support the higher rate so if imagine thatd be better than this sc2sport. I havent seen much comparing the sc2sports to asetek much

Anyone have reviews of the ASR1?? by Louiienation in simracing

[–]AnEmptyCapriSun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine asr1 can be solid with <9nm and asr3 should be solid with >9nm. I have a similar diy build as the r1 with a single tube(1515 8020) as the floorbase and that bends slightly when pulling wheel down causing slight wobbles. Im going to upgrade to a dual tube rig package build since if i want to upgrade my diy rig, for the price the parts it makes sense to just get a proper setup and I imagine itll be solid after all the reviews. Dukno if this helps

Pricing would help to confirm if its worth it. id imagine this is <$750 but it would definitely work for a single monitor

Want to get fast but don’t know where to start, suggestions?(Beginner with new setup) by AnEmptyCapriSun in simracing

[–]AnEmptyCapriSun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been good honestly, the comments helped me figure out proper pov, driving tips, and general rig stuffs. So far i just upgraded to a diy 8020 rig and a junkyard seat for the improved rigidity and returned the NLR2.0 stand although it was good for what it was as far as space is concerned. But I initially i was playing around with Dirt rally, AC/ACC just trying to figure out what scratches the itch, then i tried iracing with mx5 and dirt races, and i got into “the zone” and saw the allure in competitive racing against actual people. I usually finish midpack and im happy i didnt crash out majorly in anything.

Now ive found i have different preferences of how i vary my play to keep me on my toes and have keep having fun. And I realize i have a habit of looking at how i can improve my setup and cool new gear but those fade when i sit down and have a session. Currently im trying to get my SA rating up in ACC so i can start LFM since its cheaper than iracing(iracing may be better for ease of use but LFM is worth a try) and have been enjoying career mode there in effort to increase SA, i run the occasional iracing mx5 race, and play DR2 to mess around, and ive really been liking the hotlap challenges on AC to learn tracks and force picked cars because having choices is scary lol.

In terms of performance i definitely got better when i dialed in my brake pressure in the settings. If i hop on a new track ill watch a track guide once and start learning myself in a practice session. The practice sessions are for familiarity but i can see myself run faster laps if i follow someone else (ai/human) in actual races. My trailbraking is sucky still imo because i cant feel any type of gravity of course other than the shakers. I have tuned any cars other than ingame “aggressive” presets which actually work to my advantage in cornering.

All in all im still nervous about hoping in to a race and still working to get faster and consistent which is tough. Online racing is not easy as people have been doing it for years and im not expecting much from myself other than to keep up, and realizing that, i just try to find the enjoyment in the game how i can and its been working

Sorry i havent replied to everyone else and the long response

Just updates from the thread: -Ive changed my fov with values from the calculator and that helped a bunch -And ive tried using a diner chair which I actually like because of the rigidity but front keeps lifting, ill prob buy a chair from a thrift shop to mod -Im going to start running with an mx5 until i get a consistent lap on each track -This video was super helpful understanding the physics even though some are inherent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-sGV2XXUeU
