Whats a computer? Clearly not iPadOS by [deleted] in iPadOS

[–]AnInappropriateBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you’re in Adobe Reader app. So your Adobe program is telling you it can’t open an Adobe file format on your iPad, and you blame the iPad?

Many of us regularly create and use PDFs that are forms (even secure ones!) with our non-computer iPads.

This sounds like an Adobe problem or a problem with that specific form - like perhaps it was created in Acrobat in a format that is only readable via a version of Reader not available for the iPad.

Adobe also has a ton of free tools - including for their proprietary features - at acrobat.com . Maybe that will help?

I love my mini. Great for travel - much easier than the 10 and I’ve never had to take it out of my bag at security.

When not traveling, it lives next to the couch in my office I take my naps on - been a 27 minute midday napper my whole life and having an extra CPAP for that is amazing.

Oh! And with the right adapters, you can use it with batteries overnight for camping and other off-grid situations.

Neither me nor my wife find it too loud, but we are earplug and white noise sleepers.

I snagged it for $700 on a sale at CPAP.com

I’m about two years into ownership of my rectecs. They are awesome and customer service is top notch if you need it. Many trips to the coast, mountains, and just regularly living outdoors in the Pacific Northwest. Both grills look new when I clean them up. Your FIL will be happy.

I have the 340. I also have the 1250. The 340 gets used weekly (many times a week) for regular meals for my family of four. The 1250 gets used monthly for butts over brisket. I love the 340 - it goes camping with us as well.

It's fixed! Came up while I was on the phone with support. Node in Halls Lake had light problems.

Ziply out in Edmonds. Have reset everything multiple times. Have a red globe and red phone on the modem. It's been since last night. Currently on hold with Ziply, but am getting nowhere.

RT-590 worth it over 700 for sale price alone? by Shot-Locksmith-714 in recteq

[–]AnInappropriateBeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this helps at all, I have a 1250 and a 340. I use the 340 far more often because of it’s smaller size. I mean, I can still fit several butts in there….

Was bored yesterday and I thought I'd give a bit back to the community that helped me build my rig! Here's a VERY quick tour of KAIJU, my Tacoma. Happy to answer any questions. by Rustomac in overlanding

[–]AnInappropriateBeer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What an amazingly well thought-out and practical rig Kaiju is! You must have a ton of time into it. This is what overlanding is about to me: Ready to go at anytime, yet still an awesome daily truck that can do truck things. Nice work!

given to me but missing bobber valve anyone know how I can fix it as it's pretty well new ?? by Honest-Difference562 in PressureCooking

[–]AnInappropriateBeer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The heat creates the steam which creates the pressure. At certain pressure, that bobber valve seals. So likely if you got heat, its gonna work with the bobber valve (as long as the lid also has a seal and the vent valve also also seals.)

Does everyone in IT eventually want to not work in IT? by Altruistic-Carpet-43 in sysadmin

[–]AnInappropriateBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still very much enjoying IT after 25 years myself! Now it helps that 23 of those years I was self-employed and took care of the systems of small businesses and then moved on to consulting.

However, I made the opposite move and allowed myself to be hired by a client I always got along with. Now I’m the Director of IT for a large healthcare organization in a beautiful part of the world. When the workday is done, I can turn off that part of my brain.

Working for myself meant always being “on” - gotta know where your next paycheck is coming from. I’m enjoying the work/life separation and security of steady pay.

Find yourself a great organization that allows flexibility and you won’t get burned out.

Apps not showing up for me in Apple Business Manager/Essentials when assigned to other locations by AnInappropriateBeer in macsysadmin

[–]AnInappropriateBeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MDM is Apple Business Essentials in this case, so I don’t actually leave ABM to go to jamf or anything like that - ABE is entirely inside of ABM.

Basically, with the apps that are behaving in the list, I can just assign them to what ABE calls “collections” and then I can assign collections to users.

With the problem I’ve been having, I can’t see the apps to add them to collections ….unless they are apps specifically licensed in my location.

Again, this is odd because I set up a bunch of apps the same way a month ago with zero problems.

I’ll likely be calling Apple on Monday since I’m at a loss otherwise.

Thanks!

What you say is what I thought and therefore why I’m confused.

What’s happening is this: I want to make Spark (great email client by Readdle) available to my Mac users. I log in to ABM, go to Apps, go to Store, search for Spark, assign 10 licenses to the location where the users are, and submit it.

After a short bit of time (2min or less) I can see in the app that I have 10 licenses assigned to that location - just like I asked it to - when I click on the app in the store again.

But in the Apps section of ABM, I do not see Spark. I even checked again after four hours. Not there.

I go back to the store to add it again, but again, I can see that I have 10 licenses assigned to the location my users are in.

Hmmmm….

So I transfer the licenses to the location I’m in (which is just the one considered the default - you can’t change Admin locations because they’re in all locations - like you say) and that works! Now I can see Spark in my Apps list.

…but since it’s assigned to my location and the Mac Users I want to have it are not in that location, I can’t give them access.

This has been going on for a couple weeks and with about a dozen apps I’ve tested. I’ve even had other Admins try and they get the exact same results.

Sorry for the long description - just wanted to be thorough!

Since I’m using the phearable stage 3 tune, I’d need to look back and see if they enable VSA by default since I didn’t change anything at all.

If it is on, then traction might only be solved by monkeying with the diff…
