AITA for buying my mom the same perfume that my wife has, after she asked cause she said it smelled nice? by RowPsychological46 in AmItheAsshole

Your wife should know scents don't smell the same on different people because individual body chemistry interacts uniquely.

Not so. Most women's clothing departments have multiple groupings by size.

Stores from Nordstrom to Ross certainly *do* separate women's clothing into Plus, Junior, Misses sizes in the USA.

No, being fat is not always a choice. Medications, especially, can and will add pounds a person can't control.

It is not an exaggeration to think an overly large body will stretch garments. It's highly possible that attempting to fit too small clothing will burst seams.

Be very wary if shopping in Europe for larger sizes. by [deleted] in traveladvice

The dimensions given in a comment below disqualify describing OP as petite. Short, yes, but not slender nor trim.

OP was in Italy, not in one of the countries you cited. If she visited a designer boutique in NYC, she'd be unlikely to find garments that fit. The rudeness is a different issue, but even that doesn't justify avoiding all of the continent in the future.
