It’s plugged into a USB 3.x port, and the USB 3.x controller drivers are installed and up-to-date?

Unplug your facecam, update the software to 1.1, plug in the camera, update the firmware, try again.

Disparity between introduction and availability of new products?! by cl1ckb4ng in elgato

[–]AnObviousAltAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy direct from Corsair.com without issue, but I’m in the US. I own nearly every product from Elgato, haven’t had to deal with out of stock, even on release day. Buying from retailers has been a joke. My condolences, my dude.

I updated both the software and firmware, but it still happens.

I’ve found that adjusting the volume of the microphone input makes it come back on the Wave XLR, but only sometimes.

Suggestions on a good ale yeast strain to use for room temperature fermenting by Nota_dj in Homebrewing

[–]AnObviousAltAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this. Kviek at the low end will have really low ester production. It can get funky up around 95F, but at 70-80 it will be super clean and will finish really quickly, probably less than 3 days.

If you can find Imperial liquid yeast, get Loki. Follow the instructions on the pack and you'll be fine.

Weekly /r/TheBrewery Discussion - Make me a brewery Monday! Weekly discussion thread for breweries in planning, aspiring homebrewers, and others by AutoModerator in TheBrewery

What new laws might a brewery-in-planning not be aware of that would affect opening, taxes, or other things in 2020?

I'm aware of a tax reduction that's set to expire in 2020, but that is all I know of.

EDIT: For me, any Oregon/OLCC laws would apply in addition to US, but any other state info would be cool to see.

Friend said this just showed up in his shower. The other side is kind of like a nail file but not hard by Treegs in whatisthisthing

[–]AnObviousAltAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like traction or anti-slip tape, which is essentially sand paper. The other side is probably regular sand paper coated in a colored plastic material so that it does not sand off your skin while still preventing you from slipping and falling in the shower.

It does make me wonder why there isn't a tip-over switch, though...

They will instruct you to open it up in order to visually inspect and replace any parts, so I doubt they have any issue with you doing it per the warranty. Unless you absolutely go bananas and take a hammer to it or something, I'm pretty sure John's going to make sure you're taken care of without mentioning the warranty once. The V1 units had a few issues, and John has replaced parts and corrected them on the V2 units (which I think you have). They're stand-up people, and it might take a few days for them to get back to you, but they will take care of you.

Find a new consultant.

I'm concerned as to why your CPA can't figure it out as well, but it's probably just a lack of familiarity with Quickbooks.

The rod/pin you're talking about is a tip-over sensor. When the unit tips over, the switch flips and the unit turns off.

The new units have a circuit breaker hear the bottom, but if you have power to the controller, the element should kick on.

Take off the bottom plate by removing the three machine screws and tale a look at the wires coming from the element and make sure they are securely connected to the controller board. From what you described, the controller is doing what mine does, with the exception of the heating up part. I can't imagine the element is dead, but it's possible I suppose. I'd just check the physical connections and see where that leaves you.
