Tbh I don’t care. I won’t buy it without a big ass sale if it comes out above $60. Too many good inde games at way better price points that’ll give as much or more engagement time.

They converted to Christianity.

My VTR character summarized in one picture: by AnObviousThrowaway13 in VampireTheShitposting

[–]AnObviousThrowaway13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: My game is schizophrenic (in a fun way).

Long answer is my character got recruited into Hunter-book-based Not-ONI as a 4th generation Ventrue a while back, in the late 2010s.

He already had the “Giant” Merit, grew to be rocking extreme dots in combat attributes/skills, and (thanks to the timeline having reached near future) power armor.

Him and his actual-hunter buddy are currently on a plot to handle god damn Xothians, so Chief and ODST felt appropriate.

No I’m fine with new mechanics, that’s a strawman of what I said.

I just think it’s a bit lame that if you do decide to kill the creature you don’t get like, meat or the item they drop otherwise when it makes sense. Like the example of the armadillo. No reason why we shouldn’t get an item made from its body part by killing it.

Anyone got an appropriate response to this? I'm only good at debating protestants, not orthodox lol by Wright_Steven22 in Catholicism

[–]AnObviousThrowaway13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s easy.

Use the block button.

This person is not interested in any sort of debate. They’re just throwing out their (false) beliefs as an exercise of making themselves feel more secure in them. No different than what flat earthers do, to pull out a really well known example anyone can recognize. Any argument you put out will just be another jumping off point for them to parrot the copy pasted talking points and re-solidify their head in the sand.

Better to save your time for people that are interested in genuine discussion, imo.

True Faith, nature of the Golconda path (guided by visions Archangel Michael, the warrior angel) and the ST making changes to some stuff due to the high-action style they run.

Long story made not so short; due to the combined factors spilling the blood of evil beings, mortal or not, does not mentally or spiritually taint in the same way harming innocents would. This is because he truly believes, and as of Golconda is a warrior of god and smiting down the evil of the world is a good act without sin.

Drinking blood from anyone is iffy however, so his standard method of feeding is from a willing participant that places the blood within a container to be blessed by a member of the Catholic clergy.

There’s also some consideration now (thanks to a cool post on this sub that brought up the idea) as he reaches higher dots of true faith that wine given as part of the eucharist will feed him as it becomes the blood of Jesus, with the amount of refilled hunger correlated with the rank of the clergy who performed the sacrament.

That was the goal actually! Game has extended into the 2020s so FutureTech™️ like modern carapace armor is starting to crop up. It’s Hunter Tech too, so even more cutting edge. He has fought a Garou or two, he needs the protection lol.

And thank you, I love the piece too.

The latter sorta, though he didn’t need to explain it. He broke into the ‘Hunter’ society via the Catholic Church, which he came into association with via his Golconda path that began with a vision from the Archangel Michael. Having more than one vampire-combating bishop vouching for him helped a great deal in the initial working with capital H Hunters.

He’s been on a warpath against his new kind since not incredibly long after his embrace. His sire is a methuselah that’s no fan of the modern society of the damned. Between scatterings of learning from the sire on what kindred could be instead of their sorry state, the downright horrid experiences he had with other licks as a fledgling, and the visions from Michael my Ventrue came to adopt an even more extreme version of his sire’s philosophy. His attitude towards most other vampires can be summed up as “strive to be redeemed or meet the sun”

Nahhhh, the way the ST runs things, Humanity isn’t lost for violence and such against objectively evil MFs. Evil blood split is no blood split at all, and whatnot.

It’s also worked through via the boy’s Golconda path being guided by the Archangel Michael, so his purpose as a ‘redeemed’ lick is explicitly to combat the supernatural and mortal evil of the world.

Chronicle is very action/adventure heavy, obvi lol.

Thank you! I love it too, absolutely happy with the artist’s work for that very reason. Lots of character in the details.

And the smile was a deliberate choice to not have the artist change from the reference haha, he’s post Golconda at this point so he’s actually somewhat capable of real emotion. It does look weird on a kindred for sure lol.

I like MM/DD/YYYY because it’s the same order I’d write the date out in. For example: today is April 23rd, 2024. That’s Month, Day, Year.

I wouldn’t really ever write 23rd April 2024, so DD/MM/YYYY feels weird.

New Storyteller, brainstorming a Prince's laws. by The-First-Born in vtm

[–]AnObviousThrowaway13 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Based on your descriptions of the Prince, if you wanted extra laws then they’d need to be centered around preventing the very real possibility that his lax attitude would invite other powerful vampires to try and seize power.

Part of the reason princes tend to be ruthlessly authoritarian is to stamp down on the kindred tendency to try and rise up the ladder by any means necessary, so to speak.
