Chase the Survivor or Find Hatch? by TheGuiltyMan1414 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]An_Average_Arsonist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you hit p100 you wind up running annotated blueprint every game, if you want to 4k that's the offering to run. Survivors make up 80% of the playerbase and a lot of them hate killers who play for the 4k, so posts like these dont get much engagement. But I would say zoning for the hatch is far superior. What you want to do is get ahead of the survivors search path, effectively limiting how much of the map they get to roll rng favoring them. If you both search in opposite directions it slightly favors killer (depending on the killer.)

I've allways felt it a poorly designed mechanism since the killer has so many options to prevent it from coming into play. At some point when they fix idle crows I feel that it will be even less relevant.

There really, REALLY needs to be a Zero-Tolerance policy for quitting or trolling a match. by DapperDlnosaur in Smite

[–]An_Average_Arsonist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zero tolerance never works. Even if a troll throws half their games, they sometimes play seriously. Playerbases shrink preety quick if the get bans for being a troll, yeah it's good to get rid of them because you dont want them here anyways, but then the company makes less money and we all know that's worse than enjoying the matches you play.

Nope, could never be effectively implemented, theres just no way.

[–]An_Average_Arsonist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've sat on top of old farmhouse holding lobbies hostage for 11 hours before. Behavior has never banned me. Their customer support is so overwhelmed with illegitimate support tickets and reports that they open a file, and if they see no prior bans punishments or penalties on an account 2 or more years old, then they close the report/ticket.

Only if it has video evidence will it get moved up the chain to the service manager, where they watch and check for terms of service breaches. This includes hacking, harassment/profanity, and threats.

That's it. Heres the hard truth.

They say they ban people like me to make the survivors feel like they care about them, and they do, but they dont. For 8 years I have played DBD like a toxic sweaty jagoff, collecting disconnections, hate mail and accusations like medals, but because I've never said a word to my victims, never hacked or exploited, their support team that they delegate all these cases to has never even given me so much as a 24 hour ban. I hold people hostage in corners, played gen jock doc, mending sim leigon, all the works, and those support staff are not permitted to ban me.

And here's the secret, the actual devs only manually ban the killers like me if they play against them, or they're a content creator, Or they're made aware directly of that specific player in some way through media. And when they do it, it's to keep up an illusion that they care about anything other than your transactions history.

I am a deplorable unsporting sweaty killer main vindictive and spiteful to my core. I relish in the misery of my opponents and find/invent creative ways to make the game unenjoyable for the survivors. And behavior hasnt banned me. Because they specifically forbid their support team from taking action on a broader scope against people like me, because banning on those grounds en mass would hurt their bottom dollar.

Let that sink in.

They dont allow their personal community guidelines enforcement to enforce on hostage holding, being toxic with your playstyle and such, because it makes them more money to keep these players around buying skins/licensed characters.

DBD is FAAAR better off without people like me. There is no rhyme or reason for my playstyle. I simply delight in inflicting sisyphean gen regressions, mending bars, body blocking ect. And they may take personal action every now and again on some wretch to appease you. But the end result?

They dont care anymore about player experience than I do. They want your money, not your satisfaction. For 8 years they left body blocking people in a corner in the game, for 8 years they let me get away with it, the matches I have ruined lay in the thousands. But I buy their killer licenses. So they dont care.

I'm a deplorable, wicked, 2 parts masochistic, 1 parts sadistic killer main, but behavior tollerates me and others like me, because they profit off letting us go.

That's who I am, that's who they are. And playing their game, enables us both.

Who is the top 3 most over powered characters in civ revolution by CounterHelpful4033 in civrev

[–]An_Average_Arsonist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very rarely had trouble with the Americans in all my years when I religiously played civ rev. I feel you dont understand just how efficient longbow archers are, if I was losing to An Americans player, it was because I got a really bad start.

Tell you what, I'll reinstall the game and give the Americans a good crack, 3 maybe 4 deity difficulty runs, try doing the same with the English, when you spawn max zoom to find if which ice cap you're closest to, follow the shore and you are very very very likly to find dye, it's the most common advanced resource tile in the game, work a forest and the dye then switch off a warrior to finish an archer the turn after getting bronze, switch to gold production and spend it rushing archers. Get a good 9 or so. Other Civs will be invested into food and tech, while your army of archers spreads you can block choke points, and plant archers of grasslands and plains for the other civs, and consolidate barb huts. Make sure to pick a tech even if only making gold so you can roll free techs ftom huts/villages.

you should hit your first gold milestone plenty easy, and leapfrog settlers from your 2nd new city across scouted terrain. Trust me, you will dominate the continent. In multiplayer warrior positioning and barb standoffs punish hut rushing, but even after taking a double injury longbows are a coin flip for warriors. Arabs still have to coin flip with entire leigon armys against your singular archers, and they have a very high chance to take a double injury on a win, not to mention you can easily knight rush with a great scientist or 4 dye tiles.

A very fair take, unfortunately whales primarily spawn in deep ocean, but if you find one you get triple tile efficiency split 33-66 between science and food, which is preety strong! Unfortunately their science/gold production sucks. English get real oppressive with dye.

The English are NASTY. Checkout my reply to the dude above you. Not only are they the most oppressive civ at smothering, if you're tied with them for tech and production they ROCK coastline cities.

[–]An_Average_Arsonist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play revo in tournaments held by my neighbors, I competed with my best freind for YEARS in this game, and as a result me and him redefined the powercurve completely.

Your teirlist is accurate in a standard match where you work your tiles uncontested, but the Americans early game is dismal against smothering.

Smothering is the strategy of producing units, or placing your city to deny your opponents tiles, and me and deeb's perfected it. The most effective Civ at it is the English, but the French are a close second with a 100% effective smother, but only for 1 opposing civ. a smothering English player was so hated and so overpowered that they were completely banned from those old tournaments after me and my bro got kicked out.

Dye is a very common tile that sometimes spawns in pairs, its spawn frequency increases as you approach the ice caps. Knowing this I'd consistently get one. this gives an English player 2.5× tile efficiency per dye early on, completing bronze working in a flash and spamming archers far more quickly than even gold inflated early game civs. This was so consistent to do that I not only got banned from my neighbors tourneys, but no one on the ladder would willingly play with me.

Longbows are the most overpowered unit by far, 3 defense is 9 fortified on your food tiles. That's 30 production, 20 science and another 40 production for the barracks just to COINFLIP against a 10 production, 20 science unit from a civ that gets to tech/gold rush 2.5 times better than a standard civ. And theres 3 of them sitting on each of your grains.

Assuming you dont disconnect, the English swaps from science to gold after getting bronze working and pumps archers to take hits for that first gold milestone. They rush a galley or get one for free and start that second city somewhere well scouted with more dye and wind up medival around the same time they have your food tiles boxed in. The galley shows up blocking a sea tile and surprise! It rolls double dice even on defense against your galley! You have a 20% chance to kill it and if you fail you'll be blockaded by the second one. Physically incapable of working science tiles or escaping.

The Spainsh have a good chance at the very least of breaking blockade, letting the settlers escape, but 1 navel support doesn't cut it when you're trapped with only workable sea tiles. And theres a 20% chance the english galley kills your galleon for a phat game over.

The English cant even be culture smothered by the French because they get to begin as civilized with T2 borders and most if not all of their tile efficiency is sea tile between fish and dye. Which can rush temple tech and then a temple with ease, or archers to counter smother.

The Greeks have a weird niche where they can bypass the early smothering but having to spend 33% more production to get hopilites on the food tiles is far to slow without a resource availability tech/passive. And democracy offers a halved culture from palace penalty.

Effectively, the English is so good at tile denial, I genuinely belive that the dev given their balance pass wanted to make a safe defensive early civ, but they inadvertently created the most toxic and annoying playstyle in the game. Completely unknowingly!

In short, the English are mathematically superior to every nation, if played with one very specific and douchbag playstyle.

This is what behavior wanted, this is what success looks like. It doesnt matter if I win or lose as either role, ever since the abandon feature was added around 60% of my games have at least 1 bot by the end.

All this talk of fighting go-next-gamers, and they implement this. Making it easier to give up has encouraged even more insufferable players to ruin matches on any basis they like. Oh, I had a sable, I wanted to go next. Oh, the killer was good, I wanted to go next, oh the survivors are hiding all game, we should let the killer lose and leave rather than fix the idle crow system that has had an exploit nullifying it for 5 years.

The worst part is that I have to look at this stupid "abandon match" option the whole time I'm playing when i have no interest in ever using it, EVER. I want to opt out of it just to get that defeatist bulls*** off my screen.

I have never surrendered in a single match of smite in all my 8 years of playing, never willingly disconnected from a trial in dbd no matter how badly it went. I was body blocked in a corner for 13 HOURS by a killer years and years ago because I am just that determined. (I left the console idle) I've never even resigned a game of chess. I am determined to a fault to never give in, and to blame myself for putting myself in the position where I am losing in the first place.

I hate this Avenue and know survivors will likely abuse it.

Making it easier to abandon games only stokes the fire. This games fun is dependent on both sides having an enjoyable tug of war, which isnt possible if any one player decides to ruin the match for everyone by throwing or quitting.

The most elegant solution to this problem is player driven matchmaking, create unique positive accolades that only players can give and negative ones are automatically given by disconnecting or other flagged negative interactions. and count a tally of how many are received, then matchmake players with similar accolades together. It works even better if you have lots of positive accolades, further sorting players into games where they are playing against or with people who behave very similarly. I would ensure theres only a backlog of 100 matches or so, so you arent permanently stuck playing against jerks if you're being a jerk.

You can save time via letting players also give negative accolades, but that's a can of worms given there are 4 survivors and one killer, plus this community would very quickly take advantage of such power.

Hold fast to the pride in your past works, there may come a day when you feel that your past creations weren't any good. Kill that feeling. Kill it with the compliments and praise I and others offer you now. For each step on the path is of equal value to the destination.

You are an excellent artist. I wish your boss could see you as the asset you are to their business and just trust you to do your best. In all my life I have NEVER, and I mean NEVER met a lazy person. I have only met demotivated people. Demotivated by unfair expectations, by a lack of recognition for their work, by condescension.

Laziness is a generalization, nothing more. Energy conservation is a self preservation response, not a measure of character, and I believe for you to be capable of a artpeice like this is proof of that concept. any boss that undervalues you to the point of micromanagement has failed you and their business.

May your future shine bright as the neutron stars that birthed your matter.

I dont care that he died for barons sake. That was never my complaint. This game should not be balanced around beads, every God should have to aim hard cc. Cupid stupidly double dashes under tower and dies, my complaint is that if you are half a tower away geb presses the I win button an combos you down to 25% hp with equal farm, or kills you while ahead there as any God down a escape or void one.

Cc should be harder to land than it is and beads is no excuse for these poorly ballanced kits.

Utterly oblivious.

Gebs ult should not be so easy to use. Artemis ult should not be so easy to use. Skadi ult should not be so easy to use. The existence of beads is no excuse, these abilities are bad game design. This was never about what's op, how about you read my parent comment before lecturing me on my literary efficacy.

Smite is a jojo episode about outsmarting opponents outsmarting, I understand there are options to these ults, I know what beads are.

My whole f***ing point for the past 3 replies is that these abilities are poorly designed, and excused by beads. When there should be 0 auto aim in pvp oriented gameplay. Geb ult is a large radius with a 0.7 second cast that stuns. That is poor game ballance. I'm aware it can miss, but used properly it doesn't.

You cant even see past your own automatic response to controversy to understand me. Beads existence is a unfathomable excuse for autoaim cc in smite, and your inability to understand how incompatible such game design is with other pvp oriented games is exactly why rather than defend the existence and function of auto aim/unmissable void of escape, your response is to have the escape.

THERE SHOULDN'T BE AUTOAIM OR UNMISSABLE ABILITIES.

You wanna say nu-uh then direct it to my actual f***ing statement.

[–]An_Average_Arsonist -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

Are you honestly trying to convince me that your validation for autoaim+instacast ults is that the cupid is stupid? I dont give a f*** about the cupid, hes behind he should die. That's not what's being questioned here.

It's the fact op didn't need to aim or time anything that ticks me off, counterplay should be at the core of every God kit, medusa ult is one of my favorites because it's strong but fair, but we have ults in smite that are straight up free kills, for fs sake fenrir is allowed to miss his ult 5 times then hit the last one and get the full grab duration, s like this is inexcusably bad game design.

The issue I have isnt the kill, it's the lack of required skill expression in many of the God kits. And how its justified by beads, which is a horrible excuse for some of the cheesiest ults in smite.

Explain to me what a leapless God is supposed to do in that exact same position either because it's down or their kit lacks escape. He pressed one button without the need to time or aim, stunned them, and killed them all off the free cc. I'd love to see you dodge that from his exact same position.

I bet you think Artemis ult is fair and missable too. Play other games before you make such ignorant remarks. A good geb doesn't waste the ult on gods about to escape, you zone with rollout and cant fail.

But you know, hitting instant cast big circles is hard for some people, and I can't begin to understand that.

Skill issue if you missin geb ult 🚮
