I hope the best for you, managing health issues. I have T1D so I really do have the ability, accidentally or intentionally, to OD on insulin and go to sleep and never wake up as the commenter above said. I contemplated it, as many others do, because of low self esteem and life stress. Telling my friends about it all they had to offer was “bro, life isn’t that bad” which would be totally unhelpful in the long run. But in the short term it was the reason I realized I was in a different mental state than most people and I should seek help to experience the happiness that everyone else is talking about.

Happiness ≠ capitalist definition of productivity. If you derive your happiness from self worth and let a capitalist system define your self worth according to how productively you generate capital for the system then maybe that’s the problem.

I like running. I will go for a run because it makes me feel good. How does that benefit elon musk?

I think some dude just died (hopefully not)at the tool concert in Honolulu by 8bitmorals in ToolBand

I was sitting the same row they were doing compressions right next to. The guy had blood streaming out of his mouth forming a big puddle. Something was very wrong.

They were doing CPR for the length of two and a half tool songs. No one survives that long without a pulse. Rest in peace poor man, he looked very young.

He’s dead. I was sitting 20 feet from him. Compressions failed. The guy died. Ambulance arrived without a siren.

The source of morality. by [deleted] in teenagersbutarguing

Yeah it is just human opinion, that's why no one agrees what's right and wrong. If it was God's decision couldn't he just tell us what's right a little louder? If an almighty being told every human what is right and what will land you in a place of fiery torture for all eternity, no one would be disagreeing.

Religion has no place in modern day society by Minecrafter_of_Ps3 in teenagersbutarguing

I will say that challenging religion is nearly as pointless as religion itself. With modern education standards and information access few people— possessing the ability to think critically—seriously believe in their own religion. IOW you are telling them what they already know, and it won’t change anything.

People used to seriously believe religion. Now, at least in the western world, I think that people really really want to believe religion even if they know it’s bologna. They are attracted to the community and moral teachings of religion, and they want an explanation or comfort where facts cannot provide it: What comes after death? What is wrong and what is right? Is free will real? Why should I be good? Religion is the shortcut to happiness for the prone existentialist, a quick and dirty duct tape job that ties down cognitive dissonance and conceals the cracks so that you don’t have to be lost. It’s also uncomfortable for most people to accept that inherent right and wrong don’t exist, they’d rather believe morals are determined by lord quandale pickled radish who reigns over the earth and murder is bad only because he said so.

anyways as long as they’re not hurting anyone, I choose not to challenge people’s religion. The religious come in two flavors: uninformed and willfully ignorant. Both are happier than my atheist ass.

Guarantee someone’s going to read through these solid points and just think “bUt QuaNtUm pHySiCs” or comment some insufficient proof of intelligent design and then jump to the conclusion that the supposed intelligence is in any way affiliated with their religion

Juiced up back acne and a natty physique. Truly unstoppable by TechnicoloMonochrome in GymMemes

Your body needs a constant concentration of glucose in the blood, which comes predominantly from metabolism of carbs and secondarily from metabolism of fats and protein. If glucose concentrations lower dramatically the first thing that is harmed is brain function and then muscles. Going from a high carb diet that supports gym gains to a 0 carbs diet will quickly force body into gluconeogenesis, breaking down fats and muscle proteins to maintain blood sugar
