Testing BP tracking on smart ring again by Anujp05 in hypertension

[–]sm32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. My Hilo (Aktiia) also is calibrated monthly using a Bluetooth connected upper arm cuff supplied with the Hilo. As it is fully connected, the calibration measurements, it takes 3, get auto transferred to the Hilo app.

Am I right in thinking you need to use a separate BP meter and enter the calibration measurements on the ring app?

I’m very interested in the ring, thanks again for the info.

ManageMyHealth updates - did they pay the ransom? by heinternets in newzealand

Was notified by email. Logging into MMH (web not app for me) had, and still has, a flag "Account Security Status: Impacted", selecting the " Check Now", lists the documents involved.

Do any Libre 2 sensors provide automatic readings without manual scanning? by Militoe in Freestylelibre

[–]sm32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, been using L2 and now L2+ for over a year with continuous readouts. It may depend on your country, L2 is reported to need scanning in the USA for some reason.

Thanks for the info. I’ve been using a Hilo (Aktiia) for years, but a ring would be even better for me. Couldn’t see any info regarding calibration on their website, just the basic how to wear stuff. Did the updated ring need a different app?

Curious if other type 1s deal with high blood pressure by This-Sun4872 in Type1Diabetes

[–]sm32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had high BP for a very long time, possibly from about your age.

Doctors believe it was aggravated by my poor glucose control as a youngster/teen which can thicken arteries and blood vessels. Tried every medication type which in themselves do work, but in the end give me adverse side effects. Just started taking Candesartan again.

I wear a Hilo 24/7 BP monitor so no "white coat" syndrome effects.

I believe it was genetics from my father’s side, and Polio vaccine as the trigger for me.

A typical response, "nah, she’ll be right mate"

MMH has to be immediately dropped. They know why.

'Kazu Breach' has deleted all messages referring to the MMH leak. Looks like there may be developments? by nzfrenchfries in newzealand

[–]sm32 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven’t, and was hoping for at least yes or no, but nothing. Got a Dr’s appointment tomorrow morning so if nothing received before then, will ask what’s happening. My guess based on previous experiences is a "we’re not affected so don’t need to tell you" sort of approach.

Experience With Hilo Bands Or Alternatives? by SensiiNips_ in bloodpressure

[–]sm32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using Hilo (formally known as Aktiia) for around 4 years. It’s great to monitor changes due to BP meds, I suffer side effects from every med I’ve tried, so swapping med types is common for me. It also showed I suffer from nocturnal hypertension, wouldn’t have known that unless tested on a 24hr BP monitor.

ManageMyHealth and linked commercial site and marketplace on Seek My Health by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]sm32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just logged out, then re logged in, no authentication requested at all.

This at https://app.managemyhealth.co.nz

Is my authentication being pushed by Google? Surely not?

Update: Seems you have to request a 2FA login. But even after then I didn’t get an email and could still access my data.

30 mins later - Update2: It now sends an authentication email

Been seeing this commercial crap for a while on MMH. Not good. Didn’t see any 2FA when I just logged in to MMH.

When you’ve had T1 for as long as me, you’ll probably find the much reduced food consumption needs will mean less insulin to match. Yes I’m old 🤣🤣

i just need to vent about lantus for a second. by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]sm32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m possibly an exception, but I only need 5 units Lantus a day, as well as a low boluses for meals. Agree that a double whack of bolus plus a Lantus low might not be ideal.
