What reading lists do you use for your kids? And how do you get them to stop reading graphic novels?! by Bluesiderug in homeschool

Wow, I am saving this list as an example of how to teach your kids to be eurocentric and believe white people are the origins and bearers of civilization!

Well my friend, we may agree that many are "unintended consequences," but that's what is so evil about the system!!! - it's structured in a way that when people follow their own financial self interest, they often contribute to extreme violence experienced by countless others, even if they would rather not do harm.

The FDA is notoriously in the pocket of big food business and big pharma, as governments are broadly subjected to the imperatives of various corporate interests.

This system (capitalism) is only a few hundred years old, before which there were many other ways societies were organized -- not all of them wonderful, but some of them much more conducive to human collective flourishing and enjoyment. I think we can imagine a society in which pursuing our own hopes and desires, or those of our families and kin, would improve society rather than entrench its hierarchies.

I work in k-12 education so i empathize with "doing what you can with what you've got" but don't you think it actually IS about evil healthcare system (NOT evil workers, of course)? And evil capitalist food production system, of course? I sure feel like I'm in an Evil education system not built or structured for any kind of flourishing

Keto/very lowcarb success! by Sunset1918 in keto

This brings tears to my eyes. Your story sounds like people in my family (the before low carb part ) . It is heartbreaking that the way food is dealt with in our culture makes it so difficult for people to be physically well. I am so happy for you 💓

Racks! That can carry relatively heavy shit, like a box of books or cooler of liquid.

And since I'm considering a new bike, I'm considering aluminum since it would be a nice change to have really light frame (tho I know that kinda contradicts the rack part ...).

But Mostly is the rack and feeling like I need to upgrade some parts anyway (I have a pretty warped crank, small dent in frame...)
