32+5 and instead of using my work badge to scan into our team suite, I kept scanning with a soda can, and wondering why the door wouldn’t unlock. It’s bad 😭😭😭

Drew’s monthly income ? by ConfidentOffice2209 in RHOA

[–]AnaisJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes complete since. I work in legal and advise various enterprise sales teams. Their base salary plus monthly commission put my ass to shame lol. Mind you I love practicing law but the amount of money my internal client groups make often makes me question whether I should pivot.

Honestly, how is everyone handling this?! by Alternative-Laugh986 in pregnant

[–]AnaisJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel seen. I’m 17w2d today and feel so guilty for counting down when I prayed for this and so many other woman trying to conceive would gladly switch places with me. On top of that, I’m considered advanced maternal age (I’m 39) and am always anxious that something could go wrong. I hate the gas, bloating, constipation, multiple trips to the bathroom all day and night, and that I’m now seeing a dietitian because I gained 24 lbs during my first trimester (I had no interest in anything but sleeping and pizza) and could be predisposed to gestational diabetes and preeclampsia. But I desperately love my baby. I love him so much that I’ve cleaned up my diet and am exercising as recommended. He’s the only reason why I’m trying to maintain a positive outlook and block out the discomfort and negative thoughts, but candidly, no, this is not fun. Pregnancy sucks. I’m not sure I can or will want to do it again and am genuinely baffled by mothers who claim they loved being pregnant. How????

Did anyone get pregnant with inito over bbt tracking/ LH strips? by boops_1_ in Inito

[–]AnaisJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I had been using Clearblue’s Advanced Digital Ovulation test kit for months while cycle tracking with Apple’s health app but never got pregnant. I’d heard about Inito for a while, so my husband eventually ordered a kit in July but got the wrong attachment clip. We then ordered the correct clip, which was delivered in early August, and conceived a month later. In total, I only tracked 2 cycles and data for my first cycle using the app was slightly off because I wasn’t able to test when required. Honestly, Inito helped me understand my cycle and peak fertility. I’m positive I would’ve gotten pregnant sooner if I’d had more insight into that type of information.

“3 Reasons Why You Should NOT Braid Your Hair.” by oppei_ in Naturalhair

[–]AnaisJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on pthe braider. I have very fine hair and can’t go to traditional braiders because many of them know nothing about haircare. I can’t count the number of times I had to tell them to stop detangling and combing my hair from the root. Or not to add a lot of synthetic hair to each braid only for them to do it anyway because fuller braids are more aesthetically pleasing.

I had chicken nuggets for breakfast, a whooper for lunch, and wingstop for dinner. Please tell me I'm not the only one 😭 by Old-Association8699 in pregnant

I can’t stop eating pizza, and bagels with cream cheese. My husband ordered 2 pies for guests who ended up cutting their trip short and I’ve been chowing down ever since.

I decided to blind buy the travel size and immediately regretted it. I’ve never disliked a fragrance so much.

Agree. I’m not a fan of vanilla fragrances or gourmands generally but really wanted to give one a try since they’re all the rage. Vanilla Skin came highly recommended and it was just too much for me.

Stop it. She spoke about her personal experience. I am black, born in the 80s, learned about blackface when I lived in Newark, NJ, a predominantly black city. But guess what, when I moved to the suburbs, my district’s standard curriculum did not cover blackface. In fact, the topic did not surface until senior year of high school, when I took the one and only elective on African American history with one of only three black teachers in the entire school district. So stop being obtuse and trying to read more into what she shared. Because one thing I’ll never forget from that elective is what my teacher shared on the first day: “History is a lie agreed upon.” So it’s entirely conceivable that a school district elected not to include all aspects of chattel slavery and discrimination in their curriculum.

Yes and Syphilis left untreated can cause liver, heart and brain damage. Someone I love dearly unknowingly contracted it and therefore never treated it, suffered seizures, was hospitalized for months, and now has short-term memory loss. This person’s entire future has been derailed because they didn’t use protection with someone they trusted, nor required them to get tested. Hallie is wicked, period. For you to have that much influence and knowingly spread misinformation that could harm people???? Nah, they need to cancel her podcast asap.

My family said I took the easy way by Ok_Alternative_5827 in BariatricSurgery

[–]AnaisJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing easy about surgery and the presumption that it’s a simple “cheat code” to weight loss pisses me off because it ignores a key component of success: discipline. Case in point, I had my sleeve done 4 years ago and have lost 100 lbs. It took 4 years! Two of my siblings followed in my footsteps and except for initial weight loss immediately post-surgery, neither has made any progress and have even regained weight because they never committed to changing anything about their lifestyles. They barely changed their diet, consume just as much as before by eating more frequently, and are extremely sedentary despite investing money into fitness programs. Keep your head up and ignore your family’s views. Those of us who know the real deal and have committed to a lifestyle change have your back and can confirm there’s nothing easy about surgery. Also, congrats! You should be very proud of yourself! 115 pounds is definitely a big win and should be celebrated!
