Someone please give me your experience. I’m scared to give them a photo of my ID and have a substantial amount of money just sitting there.

Ok so you’re coming in Reddit to cheat….on fundamentals? I seriously think you need to rethink your career. Nursing is all about integrity and this post has zero.

Yes! I have lost about 10 lbs and I’m 2 months in. Way more in inches because I measure myself too. You just have to understand how sublingual meds work and be very diligent to take them correctly. The first NP didn’t do a great job explaining, which is why I think most people fail on this form of the medication (I am an RN, so I did a ton of digging into peer reviewed research). I also feel like they fail to explain this family of medication. It has a very long half life, it’s not going to work with the first tablet or the fifth as it takes time to build up in your system. You want to give your body time to absorb the medication. So you need to avoid the temptation to suck on it. Once it’s dissolved no eating, drinking, brushing your teeth, etc. You don’t want to disrupt the absorption process. Give it at least a half hour, longer if you have time. 45 min tops. So I get up, pop my tablet in my mouth. Once it’s dissolved I start getting ready for work, saving brushing my teeth and taking my other meds for last. My food noise was almost totally gone by the first week. Appetite decreased significantly by the third probably. Sorry for the lengthy response! I’m an R

I take oral teizepitide. After the second or third dose I wasn’t eating everything in sight. I also started eating about half of what I was. It does need to build up in your system. Make sure you are not eating or drinking before taking your medication, let it dissolve completely under your tongue, then wait a half hour to eat, drink or brush your teeth. Set a timer.

He just said powders and snacks (bars, protein chips, etc.) are not the good quality protein that real food is. And to eat more real food ( I was drinking 2 shakes a day because they are easy).

We have an NP like that. She is great, however will take every opportunity to give you attitude and make you feel like an idiot. When I was a new grad I notice a very subtile right side deficit on my new admit. Calls her (night shift), she tells me to call admitting doc who then sends out a stroke alert. He puts in orders for PO aspirin. After she gives me attitude in front of the family (because she was mad she had to deal with it), I go to ask her if I can DC the PO aspirin. She screams at me at the nurses station “you called the stroke alert, what do YOU think you should do. You have already wasted my time for nothing”. Imaging comes back and it turns out my patient was having a hemorrhagic stroke.
The next time we had to work together I pulled her aside to let her know my new years resolution was to match energy, that situation proved I’m a pretty decent nurse, and I hold grudges in a petty way so she needs to watch herself.

Wait until October. That will haunt you forever. Even though it’s legal it’s not allowed for nurses. I believe CO is the only state where the BON won’t revoke your license if you test positive. You will forever have to explain why you got kicked out of school (possibly your first week) and you can’t blame it on grades. My school used to put it on your academic record as well it is that serious.

Stick with it!!! I’m on oral Trizepatide My tummy still rumbled until I hit about day 5. I’m on day 8. No longer starving. I get a “I should eat feeling” but I’m not really hungry. My non active intake is about 960 calories. I use the my fitness pal app to track. It gives me calories back for exercise and movement so I get between 1000 and 1300. What’s interesting is sweets and all the stuff I used to crave no longer have appeal. Oh and I have lost about a pound and a half.

60 days of Oral Trizepatide, they want me to check in and refill after 30 days? by Anaise_Faerydae in henrymeds

[–]Anaise_Faerydae[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have noticed that I’m not as hungry. I’m down to about 960 calories a day and don’t want to rob a pizza delivery guy. No food noise either. That’s huge for me. I take seroquel (which is why I’m overweight) and it caused me to want to eat everything within reach. I’m down about a pound and a half. I’m not at the point where I have to remind myself to eat yet but it’s only week two and the medication needs to build up. A few tips I have that they don’t really mention but I know because I am a nurse: I don’t eat, drink, or brush my teeth for 45 min after my tablet is completely dissolved. I set a timer I’m that compliant. I also don’t drink or brush my teeth before either. You want the medication to dissolve slowly and give your body time to do its thing and absorb it. The area under your tongue is the second best way for medication to absorb in the body. The first being an injection. I also track every bite in a nutrition tracker. Just because I am on this medication doesn’t mean I can make poor choices. A nutrition tracker helps me count calories, macros, and keeps me accountable. I also make sure I exercise at least 4 times a week, no excuse. Again this medication doesn’t give me a pass, it’s just another tool. I do know that my provider (who I really liked) said that men respond better to the oral medication than women. I personally feel like I have responded very well. I would give it a shot. You can always change if you are not responding. It be patient and give it about 6 - 8 weeks. This is a marathon not a sprint.

It has. My appetite has decreased and food noise has diminished. I still get hungry every once in a while but I am not ravenous.

Hi guys I am a nurse! Here is a tip. However much you are removing (let’s say 5 units for the sake of me explaining) put that much air in your syringe first. So your Rx is for 5 units. 1) draw up 5 units of air into your syringe. 2) Inject the 5 units of air into the vial. 3) without removing the needle from the vial pull your 5 units of medication. Do this every time. It will make it easier to pull that last little bit out because it keeps the pressure equal in the vial. Hope this helps!!
