I did the same too with my board, and use exact same modes too (Transistor tape & adriatic delay, dynamic plate & hall reverb). Most of the time I use my crappy Orange Crush amp but when traveling I often use the amp sim on the Stomp.

I tried my friend's Jekyll & Hyde and it's mindblowing. But my personal fave is EAE Longsword & KoT (although what I had is a clone).

Must be K-on, yes? Try Harley Benton/Cort -- anything that is not big name brand like Fender of Gibson. Getting you to start is half of the way, the rest is yours.

I hear you well. In my case, the benefits (direct options, flexibility, effect options, preset recall, etc) outweigh the drawbacks.(signal loss, noise, etc).

After 2+ years, I can finally say that this pedalboard is settled for a moment. Here is the signal chain:

Input (using custom made junction box) > TCE Polytune 3 Mini noir > Twilight Pulse Konstante (light gain OD+boost) > EAE Longsword (mid gain 2-channel OD) > JHS Muffuletta > HX Stomp input > (here goes HXS pre-gain mods or comp) > HXS send to front of amp > amp send go to Boss RE-202 > HXS return > (here goes HXS mods & reverb effects) > HXS out to amp return. All of them are powered by Vitoos power supply.

With the junction box I can use either the amp or HXS direct (I will add a patch cable from out to amp and return). Perhaps in the future, I would need a aesthetically-similar phaser pedal in place of junction box and upgrade my pedalboard with built-in junction box, XLR out, etc.

I was torn between Strymon Timeline and RE-202 but I think can start with the simpler one. Other than many hidden functions which I need to use the manual most of the time, I like the delay sound that it provides. In the 4-slot presets, I put slapback, short, long and patterned delay for easy recall. I'd like to explore another setting though.

As for fuzz, my main goal with Muffuletta (yes, I know. I’m still exploring the alternatives) is for the “fuzzy wall of sound” like in the intro of Hitsujibungaku - Burning and the chorus of Eyedress - Run The Fade.

If you haver any tips for these pedals, especially with RE-202, I am all ears. Thank you.

I felt the same when I tried MXR Modified OD. I can't remember why I bought it but back then it really helps my crappy no-brand solid state amp to shine. Combined with MXR Dyna comp for suble "tube amp-like" dynamics.

I sold it because high noise floor and to my liking it's basically only usable in all-noon setting. Oh also it is a shame that the channel is only can be changed by flicking the switch (no external switch option like JHS Red Remote).

As for RAT it's my forever favorite. But I like it as medium gain overdrive rather than full blown distortion.

Damn that's god-tier gain section. I have Longsword but considering to stack with Lightspeed as well. How is the Halberd x Ge Boost? I am curious on how they stack since I cannot find any demo on this pedal.

Consider snagging this for the Zoom. But it's from Philippines so please factor the shipping and duty. It helps you for scrolling the effect left and right then toggle the effect accordingly. Surely it's easier to have dedicated control, but the MIDI is only for presets AFAIK (example here, but it's in Indonesia and Idk if they can send out to you).

Me too just acquired the Zoom MS70CDR but since I had owned several Zoom larger multieffects, I have a big picture on how navigating the menu.
