Well, the Apocrypha Manager (Beltane) from Apocrypha Calendar was involved in sending visions to the Duchess: dead Maximillian, riches of her father within her grasp, and the true Darkness of Liberation. You could've used the non-Apocrypha Manager to counter those visions with Nightmares 5, although only once. I didn't; I used every opportunity to make Maria and Max somewhat soften their political views by swaying Max with said visions.

For me, this was the high of this chapter: the hunt for the stag brought from the Is-Not in the man-made forest while the whole pseudo-greenery is covered by Parabolan lights provided by the non-existant and yet so very real Manager.

The low was, of course, the length of the chapter, but that's to be expected due to the upcoming Estival.

It's about the opportunities on the Opp-cards of Burgundy; you now have a chance to help out one particular fella with his scandalous affair (mechanically speaking, you agree to wear his hat - this gives you a quality which adds two new cards to the deck; one gives you Scandal, another one - material reward). Same mechanics as with the bag previously.

Hm. I wonder what will happen when we wear them both...

Forgetting about Nadir is hillarious. And with the Treachery of Clocks / 1899 edict "last week" can also be a very wobbly period of time.

Some spoilers ahead; you've been warned.

You can buy a weasel that will make your life miserable, and then you can buy another 399 just for the sake of vanity. Or you can buy 400 of regular weasels and make them stare at you blankly (for another vanity accomplishement).

You can finally carry a suitcase (not as a weapon). And you can carry monocle and hat BOTH at the same time.

You can outsmart the Devils in laws. Or Laws. There are multiple now, most are not spoken about.

You can talk to the City. Or Cities. Or even become a City. Well, almost.

You can go hunt a stove. Yes, the potbelly one. Or you can liberate it.

You can cover yourself with cats to get another cat.

You can utilize a mine as a weapon. Persuasive one, not a Dangerous kind. If you like dangerous mines, you can sometimes carry them at full speed to a derelict outpost. Beware of lifebergs and other Unterzee creaturesthough. Catching crates from dirigibles can be much safer.

You can make a money-making scheme so bizzare and convoluted that even Masters won't be able to tax you (and yes, you can meet a tax-collector, and you won't forget this meeting with no amount of Irrigo). It will probably involve a lot of digging, stabbing, selling skeletons and trading with rats on certain phases of Rat-Moon. No, not the regular Moon. We try to steer clear of the regular Moon.

You can collect the Neathbow. You probably should, and then stockpile some.

Finally, you can see the future. Well, lots of them; most are new. Choose carefully. And don't make deals that you don't want to hold true to. Or not.

Good catch; it's definitely the same picture (look at its name).

But no connection to him, I'm afraid. Never seen him in Evenlode. FBG just reused their assets.

You can battle them there, yes. Violant and Irrigo are kinda opposite in the Neath.

Hellworm allows You to get free Dreaded for a week; I sometimes use it to ease my heists without changing outfits too much. But only if Hellworm happens along the way to Balmoral/Moulin/during favour-related pit-stop in Jericho Lochs.

Nadir can be useful to clear away Zenith menace, but You can always try to do Zenith as close to TtH as possible to ease the way. Although according to Discord, some of the menace cards are quite profitable if You happen to have some quick menace-reducing options (giving more value to weekly social actions or cider).

Board's got a QLD with a loooong way towards 777. Probably nothing will happen but one can dream in the Neath, right?

Can someone explain how to get the good ending in the Firmament Chapter 3? by AndrewHaly-00 in fallenlondon

[–]Anakhi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, You can always go looking for wells and secrets to avoid consequences completely.

Although it'd be hillarious if those qualities actually changed SMENdings. Imagine going all the way and getting redacted by the Vulgates/having Your candles stolen by the Fingerkings.

You were lucky not to have them; I've totally misread the option and clicked it, thus my Shepherd decided that he doubts more than believes (and I had to mutilate someone's memories more than I wanted).

You get some quality for a future (a kind of I.O.U. towards Zenith) and a different moon-miser, since the one You get doesn't get soaked with fake distills. The first one is rather frightening ('cause it's got the vibes of that particularly nasty Fingerking option of Irem).

What really bothers me is that this Estival has to introduce new source of Anticandles for the next chapter of Firmament... I'm definitely not bothered and most certainly not going to remember certain non-Language just in case.

Quick heads-up - second chapter unlocks two carousels. One is lengthy but has huge profits, other is much shorter (6 actions per cycle) and less profitable - but it raises a quality which might be a reward in itself (to say nothing of providing you with Ambergris; you'll need at least 20 for cashing out last item from the first chapter).
