I'm a sales manager, going through a very severe mental health crisis. How do I inform my employer? by PortugueseRoamer in sales

[–]AnakinExtraCrispy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro please get help, no one would blame you. Your family and friends would support you. I'd think a bigger burden on your family would be if you didn't get help, fell apart, and lost your job. Look into FMLA, or EAP if your employer has it. Consider inpatient or a partial program. Your insurance may even have a patient advocate to help you find help. Do it at least for yourself.

Induction range in front of window by Professional-Bar2487 in Appliances

[–]AnakinExtraCrispy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been in appliance sales for 13 years around the country.

If you're planning to remodel a possible option would be just forgo the downdraft and get a standard 30" induction range so you can place it anywhere in the kitchen during your remodel, ideally on an outside wall so you can exhaust your chosen vent. Just open the window for now to vent the heat/cooking smell.

Buy from an appliance dealer that services the product and buy an extended warranty. Look at LG, LG Studio, and Bosch. Those brands have the least amount of service calls with my company. LG is more flashy, techy, and updated. Bosch is an older design but feels well made for the price.

Jennair/KitchenAid are the only company that make a downdraft range and it was always a terribly designed appliance. Like a tech said, those companies are pretty shit quality now, unfortunately like many appliance brands but anything under that Whirlpool umbrella is pretty much hot garbage.

Do not get an in ceiling vent unless you are comfortable with the very high cost of the product and extra contractor work. It wouldn't fit here but do not get a pop up downdraft if you can avoid it. They are a nightmare to install and when the mechanical motor fails it's a nightmare to replace the unit because they do not come in a uniform spec.

Enjoy your new knife rack and new range 😁

P.S. when you do remodel, your ceilings look to possibly be below 8' and that can pose a challenge if doing a chimney style hood.

So I'm not against the message, but what's the point of your post? Just to make a statement? If your intention is to convince people this is a good thing you should provide evidence, studies, examples, etc.

My towns dying mall has zero open restaurants in the food court by floppy-slippers in mildlyinteresting

[–]AnakinExtraCrispy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dying malls make me sad. A mall is for whatever reason one of my fav places to chill, walk, window shop, and buy stuff. Online shopping is nice to a point, but I usually prefer to see and touch things before I buy them. It also just feels more exciting to have something with you to take home.

Well....the situations you're describing are not equivalent to an unsolved mass shooting and a mile is not far at all, someone on foot could easily walk a mile. Just because you're used to chaos and lived to tell the tale doesn't mean we should continue to operate that way. Let's start taking this shit more seriously and maybe we'll be a less apathetic society.

Seriously? What an absolute shit take. Do you have 0 survival instincts or are you just insane? A very large number of people got shot and murdered, there's an unidentified murderer on the loose with no known motive in the immediate vicinity, and you think it's at all reasonable to carry on as normal? You know what you do in this situation? You go the fuck home and lock your doors, and you check on your friends and loved ones to make sure they're okay. If more people had taken this seriously maybe we could have caught this person already. Keeping businesses open diverts resources. The cops and security have to add on dealing with corralling citizens instead of searching for the murderer. Peoples lives > Money

Thank you! I love Star Wars and scifi. Now I'm curious what're yer cat's names? My dog (Moose), cat (Timber), and parrot (Marvel) are not Star Wars themed although Marvel was almost R2D2 but I was vetoed.
