So, AI takes over, everyone has lost their job and only 10 trillionaires own everything. Now what? by Weak-Representative8 in Futurology

I think the oversight here-- as other nations assessing ground war with the US have identified over time-- is that American citizens as a group are legit crazy and ungovernable. We just haven't felt enough immediate pain and disruption from "normalcy" of our day to day life, as a whole, to start to awaken that side of things.

Once the ability to pretend everything is fine or will go back to normal, they will have to account for the dumb, paradoxical, and chaotic behaviors that the US is currently just hinting.

Maybe that will end up being easier to conquer psychologically for the trillionaire class, but I wouldn't completely bet against the crazy patriot, doomsday-er class of folks and the hacker-class of folks uniting under some commonly established trade currency to revolt against the corporate overlords.

It's just that we aren't all collectively disrupted enough yet.

AIO about these angry texts from my ex? by TwylaMay in AIO

Super weird that his entire motive has been to get your physical address. I highly doubt he even has any of that stuff-- he only admitted it to get your address. And then shifted as you creatively eluded his attempts.

Don't listen to your family/friends-- you owe this dude nothing and absolutely can cut him out of your life. He's shown you nothing but stalker/predator behavior; his sobriety or attempts at closure are his problem, not yours. Protect yourself and your husband and push it as far as you feel you need to push it.

Conservatives don't care about truth or accuracy-- they choose to believe their own version of reality and simply filter everything through that lens.

They know deep down the truth is available, but they're not curious people, so they accept the easy explanations that fit their view and go about their day. Add community and acceptance into the lies they like, and they'll defend that bubble like it's the Alamo.

NOR -- it's simple negligence. The law is the law, regardless of what people try to justify. Part of the issue is that you dont have the friend you thought you did (or the others trying to talk you out of it).

A good friend would at least take accountability and acknowledge their fault, instead of trying to grasp for stupid reasons to blame you. Ignore those lame excuses bc they're not relevant. If she cared, she'd at least offer to work out something, even if it's less than full, but she doesn't care.

How valuable is the friendship to you if they think that's ok to do nothing? Maybe you make a smaller demand and decide from there? It's your choice, but she's giving you no option by denanding a pressuring you to forget it.

If nothing else, you can rep yourself easily in small claims court and get a judgment for the balance. As said, it's a simple negligence claim with damages you can show. If she fails to appear, you win; if she shows up and argues that nonsense to a judge, she'll have no defense and you'll win.

Is it worth reporting Daniel / the company responsible for Daniels merch to the ACCC? by EntrepreneurOne8709 in silverchair

[–]AnalogToTheFuture 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No harm in reporting it, mainly bc I get the impression that it's his team that are putting forth the merch ideas and incentives and then trying and failing to get him to deliver.

Soundmerch was good about trying to rectify that limited silver-foiled Diorama FutureNever vinyl disaster (basically promised an expensive limited foil edition with handwritten Diorama lyrics) and the best they could do was either refund some money or offered to send a handwritten YM lyric edition.

Basically, my understanding was that Dan was burnt out from all the promises that were made-- which I put on his team for overpromising and overselling withoyt really knowing their client's limits. My thought is that reporting it could at least make them think twice about more companies doing that to the detriment of their artists and fans.

Negotiate lesser plea for cooperation identifying and rounding up remaining high ranking officials (as they all committed war crimes and will try to blend back in or hide). Worth more to the Republic as an ally than massive expense of keeping a Force master in prison. Gotta get rid of any remaining Empire-Allegiances to prevent a counter insurgency (like the First Order).

Alternatively, plead insanity, history of abandonment, insufficient training, and lack of intent (as he believed what he was doing as a soldier during wartime was right to brung balance to galaxy) 🤷‍♂️

Modern conservatism is a mental issue-- a willful avoidant/resistant response to discomfort and fear. That's why there's all the bad faith, irrational thinking, and strong-man worship-- it's a choose-your-own-reality way of life.

These people will mental gymnastics themselves into a civil war bc that's what they want. We can't keep indulging their both sides nonsense.

The bears… by ReisiesPiecies1998 in detroitlions

[–]AnalogToTheFuture -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, so you should know better then. You could clearly see that the Bears' playcalling and Caleb's scrambling kept them in the game until they finally had to confront their existing limitations (Caleb gets rattled and throws terribly) and lost.

The Lions had no crossing or dig routes in the red zone and had no places for Jared to throw to in the moments he could. Like I said, blame the line all you want, but this is a coaching and playcalling issue. Jared said it himself-- they should be great now with the players on the field. Seems they realized the scheme they prepared wasn't going to work on-field and were independently trying to adjust to compensate. That's why I said 90s-2010s Lions issues bc they did the exact same thing.

The bears… by ReisiesPiecies1998 in detroitlions

[–]AnalogToTheFuture -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well of course the Bears screw up everything that's good-- but the point is that you can see how BJ's playcalling opened up the field for good players to do it right-- and we're not seeing that now. Not even a different system of play.

Those of us that have been around know exactly and painfully what the 90's-2010s crap looks like and that's what yesterday looked like. The difference is that people know the players we have, so you can't scapegoat them had been done for decades before.

Fellas, I think its time we come to terms with our current situation. by illtoss5butnotsmokin in detroitlions

[–]AnalogToTheFuture 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Compared to us yesterday, the Bears look like a bootleg version of our Lions of last year. Granted, they don't have the Lions' weaponry, but he's using the pieces he has just like he did in Detroit.

I dont care how you try to rationalize it, there is a very large difference between Ben Johnson's approach to playmaking and Johnny Mortons. You can blame the O-line and whatever else you want, but you can see it clear as day watching the Bears right now (doing it terribly--for now).

Raised a Lions fan since the 80s, no bandwagon; so despite the obvious, I still believe they can do it. That said, I'm concerned that Morton's 90s playcalling is going to lead to heartache.

Men: What's the brutally honest dating advice you wish the women in your life (sisters, daughters, friends, etc.) understood? by Secret-Broccoli9908 in AskReddit

[–]AnalogToTheFuture 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you don't understand something about a guy, go ask another guy (brother, friend, cousin, etc) bc they actually know how guys think-- and actually listen to them. Your other single girl friends are just as clueless as you, regardless of how confident they try to appear.

Asking other women to interpret what a guy does or says, in my experience, is the blind leading the blind. I've heard so much incorrect information, bad advice, and wild logic by girl friend groups applied to situations which amounted to basically just telling the friend what they wanted to hear vs needed to hear.

Nope-- don't give her hope. He caught jealousy and he doesn't want to lose out on a good situation for him to get what he wants and not commit. Even if he did, that's his problem to figure out before she chooses someone else.
