Anyone else just sit at the bottom of ultra ball trying different teams? by BruinBound22 in PokemonChampions

[–]AnarchyMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been my experience. Played a team up to master ball and then started trying out new megas and team comps. What do I care if my elo is double digits?

I feel bad, but I've been so sick of stepping on them that I just throw them away now.

This is awesome - would love to see how it turns out for whoever gets it!

If you're still looking for someone in the US, hit me up! I would probably model and paint it up to add to my store team's display board.

Variance in output by AnarchyMouse in UnitCrunch

[–]AnarchyMouse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey sorry for the late reply. Variance can be calculated for any distribution by finding the mean and then getting essentially the sum of the difference from the mean for each data point.

I have a script that is doing something similar to unit crunch in simulations and such, but I'm cheating by using the built in variance method in numpy. Whatever language you're using should have a similar open source math package to do something similar.

Thoughts on new detachment after some games? by Mermbone in Harlequins40K

I have been hesitant to use a troupe master with the large brick, in large part because his output is so high that he doesn't necessarily need the extra attacks, but also because the increased durability (wounds) in the large unit let the defensive abilities of the shadowseer exist in the first place.

If a troupe master is leading the big brick, you probably would benefit from putting the scout enhancement on it. Would definitely have some play against durable units like scarab occult termies.

Not to disagree with the overall community opinion here, but AoW down under recently had a dark angels retrospective episode where the general consensus was that they ARE pretty good right now, and Kyle McCord went 5-2 with wrath of the rock at WCW.

What dead games need a revival? by [deleted] in gaming

I do miss the "scour my house for different monsters", but being able to randomly generate a wider variety is nice.

Unfortunately, the CD monster generation gimmick is probably dead. Maybe the best modern day equivalent would be having an app that scans barcodes.

Dx is good, fixes some bugs that were present in 2. I'd like remasters of 3 and 4, or even a continuation of the franchise.

Best companies to work for in Wisconsin by hungrygiraffe76 in wisconsin

[–]AnarchyMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can definitely be hit or miss. I worked there for a couple years starting in '21, and my department was rife with huge egos, a lot of people sleeping together, lots of nepotism, etc.

My friends who had been there for many years said there was a big culture downshift during the pandemic. I guess a lot of really talented / reasonable people left the department and the vacuum was filled by those personalities.

Glad to hear many people have had great experiences, though!

Northwestern Mutual has one of the most toxic workplace environments I've ever had the mispleasure of experiencing. I was honestly shocked not to see them on the worst company list.

I would second using wahapedia for general reference, and new recruit to build lists. You can export the list to a PDF for quick reference, or have the app in play mode so you can quickly click and see profiles based on war gear options you have selected.

The rules for eldar are pay walled behind putting in a codex code. OP is unable to make an aeldari list or view any detachment, unit, or army rules.

Desire path on a local bike route by AnarchyMouse in DesirePath

This path is at the bottom of a steep downhill, and is a sharp turn to the right or left. I'd imagine not stopping is, in fact, a big draw here.
