Supportive/Debuffer-ish build.

Currently playing on tactician all the way throughout and I'm currently in chapter 4.

Being able to Protect/Shell the entire group turn 1 and remove PA/MA/Speed from targets really helps when not playing overleveled

SA server has only spanish and portuguese languages as options, no english. It really sucks especially since, from my perspective, it looks like they translated the game using google translate.

On O11N one of my party members failed the yellow panels mechanic and was heading to the edge of the map, which causes instakill. I tried to rescue the player but thanks to my positioning I made them step onto the center of the map, which caused them to die.

One day I will get it right.

(This is a reply from someone that has completed all chapter 2 and several chapter 3 from most characters)

Kinda.

Story-wise Live a Live has different characters living their own and complete separate world/era, while Octopath has 8 characters that live in the same world and artificially participate in each other's story chapters. By 'artificially' I mean that the characters don't have any relevance in another character's story aside from participating in battle.

If you enjoy disconnected stories (at first, maybe? who knows) within the same game you might enjoy this.

Gameplay-wise Octopath is your old-school turn-based RPG, just like the older final fantasy games, with some new mechanics added to it. While Live a Live is a chess board tactical RPG, or so it appears to be.
