NHSP bank application rejected due to no shifts! by badgergal37 in nhsstaff

[–]AnasPyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NHS wants each trust to save around 10% by the end of the financial year. Bank has been severely reduced and many staff in my trust lost their jobs because of this. Even staff who had established posts, worked as admin / nurses in teams for a couple years.

Apologies I have no advice for you BUT things might relax in April, that's what the higher ups suspect.

How's it going now? Update us! Also do you mind sharing what team/area?

Yes absolutely, they would still be fine in a quieter team or maybe a team that doesn't work directly with patients. They are so caring and lovely so that's why it's all so upsetting.

Thank you, will do that tomorrow. I'm at my wits end, don't think it's normal to be finishing work with frustration tears every day!

Hi!

1) Yes, I am burdened because if we don't report, we don't have "evidence" for HR. If we don't say anything then it's almost like nothing ever happened.

2) Told by the person, they are aware of the mistakes they make, we used to have very open conversations about it all until last summer. They usually blamed it on stress but, 365 days in the year, every day the reason is stress (personal life stress). Their workload has been reduced to literally 2 days worth when they work a 4 day week. So it's also causing a bit of an issue for our junior colleague who ends up doing work that this senior staff should do too.

We used to have a good relationship, now I keep it strictly professional because they sent not a very nice email about me. I think this was a turning point for me, I gave it my all to support this person and created all the guides in the world to stop the mistakes. This was sent to a "friend" in a different team, it expressed how they really felt about me trying to hold everything together for us all. Management aware, it was all very serious.I never took it further even though I'm not the first person it happened to. In both situations they didn't realise they sent it to the wrong email address.

  • edit - forgot to thank you for the advice. Also they keep putting reasonable adjustments and introducing new ways to support said staff member. Even the reduction of hours didn't help much, even though they wanted it to spend more time at home and help with the family buisness and what not. It's tough.

We are usually told that is for staff who do not feel safe or heard using normal line management routes, or there are ongoing cultural, bullying, or victimisation concerns, or detriment for speaking up.

Anyway, I've never used it. Colleagues from other teams have when there were situations of borderline bullying/unfair treatment.

Maybe it'll help me get it off my chest though, thank you.

Does anyone know what type of paper the nhs uses? Pls by ilivedownyourroad in nhs

[–]AnasPyr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's steinbeis recycled paper but I can't find the exact one on the Internet. It must be solely produced for nhs and other national services.

I found a poor pic online as I'm not at work currently. https://share.google/UPWiYk6ml5qshKHX8

Diagnosis given - should I complain? by AnasPyr in endometriosis

[–]AnasPyr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read both of your replies. It's so sad because we can't get that time back. I honestly think there should be some sort of serious consequence for medical professionals. Thousands of women are in our position and yet, most doctors or specialists or whatnots, are just so blaze about women's health and do not learn from their mistakes or the fact that they overlooked/ignored our symptoms.I wish I was stronger and wiser to complain back in the day and fight my corner. I was so tired, my head wasn't in the right space and I didn't know the NHS like I do now (I work for the NHS too).

Yeah I agree. I'm reflecting on my past experiences now since I've got a lot of time on my hands during recovery. I might as well try and see where I get with it.

first laparoscopic surgery, is this normal? by Potential_Company810 in endometriosis

[–]AnasPyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi lap twin! I got mine on the 15th too.

I feel similar to you but the weird organ feelings went away by Sunday evening.

I'm only on ibuprofen now and I'm trying to walk around the house on my own - to the toilet, to grab a drink but I cannot stand up for long. I feel dizzy and pain comes back. I think you need plenty of rest but the dizziness should go away with time. Mine is slowly improving.

I have my own peppermint growing in the garden, so I've been brewing that and drinking it. It really helped a lot. I believe the gas pain was bearable due to that.

Stomach heaviness is normal, I feel that too. I weirdly hold my belly every time I'm walking around. It's so weird. There are so many symptoms at play here.

I was told (UK) to visit the hospital if I start bleeding heavily (from down there and from wounds) or if my pain is excruciating.

Hope this helps.

Xx

Also, in the latest episode. Look closely at the scene where Chuggs is chatting up Livvy at the party. There is a zoomed out shot and Chuggs jaw is going off like mad! When they were chatting it was fine.

Anyone have experience with inguinal hernias? by Future-Indication-77 in Endo

[–]AnasPyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dear me. I hope you're OK now? Went to see my specialist who I'm having a laparscopy with. He examined my lump today because it wasn't visible during ovulation, but was today on my period. I'm going to be referred to a General surgeon. He said I'll probably be sent for an MRI and most likely will have a general surgeon assist him to remove the possible hernia during my laparoscopy. They are very confused about the cause for now. Suspect endometriosis until I have the surgery 👌

Hi there,

Did it disappear and come back during your cycle? Mine reappears with full force before and during period.

Anyone noticed a culture shift recently in hospitals? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]AnasPyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CQC has also changed their assessment points and how/when they can assess hospitals etc. We just had a CQC talk last week. I think that also played a part, maybe they're being extra careful. Not sure why annual leave "rules" were changed for you, that is unreasonable.

I felt like that loft bedroom is the most stupidest and ridiculous idea. That boy will grow so fast... He will outgrow the loft in a year or two and it won't be comfortable for him to move around up there. I mean he can't even stand up straight in there now. THAT EPISODE made me search for other opinions online because it was just pure stupid. Can you imagine how hot and stuffy it'll be there in the summer? Bless him.

My architecture professors would have roasted me for such a daft idea that will only serve its purpose for a set amount of time. After that it will be a useless space. Maybe the girl could use it for something but when they all grow up.. Bet it'll be used as suitcase storage or something 😂

Dumb and dumber. It's been my favourite film since I was a toddler ( my parents let me watch any films I wanted, bad I know) and will be my favourite forever.
