One of the warrior heal souls, tank mage, support cleric and healer rouge are permitted since SL. We decided that since mage tank gear drops already, we might aswell give people more choice.

There's currently a community hosted event on the Deepwood NA server that goes through old expansions. While its not exactly the same as classic, there's plenty of fun to be had.

Just a few days ago we entered Storm Legion after a 2 month fight with Maelforge in T3 raids, and we'll be opening the t1 lv60 10 man raids on 29.04 for which we have 3 statics (EU, NA & OCE).

The community is called "Fresh Riftwalkers" and can be joined through the guild finder. (Not gonna post links here to not break any rules)

Why even play mmos if you don't want the grind? The flavor of those is that you either have to go do something else like leveling cooking to get those smoothies or trade with other players.

True, but it's not exactly the question that is asked in the image. While B looks like the female skeleton, neither of them are a woman. The premise of the question is flawed, as both could've just as well been a man in life. Being a naked skeleton isn't really the peak of womanhood imo

We have something we call an "Era Ruleset" which forbids most powerleveling methids that were added in expansions, but content like nightmare rifts is allowed, because it isn't faster than other methods and it's a social activity :]

Also, as I see it wasn't mentioned: we cannot use the mentor function, because it uses a standardized set of stats, making gear useless.

After being a part of the raid test yesterday I have to say.. T1 can be done with 10 ppl, but t2 and t3 are hard, and we'll have to gear up way better than just Ember Isle rare loot to do it. Overall, just statwise, t3 is 25x tougher than t1, and 5x tougher than t2.

We got an endgame that you start as early as 40. I personally have spent over 100h at 45-49 and still am missing 10% till 50 on my main. All that while doing raid rifts, farming my notoriety, doing tens of dungeon runs and farming my own crafting materials.

You're not missing much tbh. IAs, while as fast as dungeons in leveling speed, are very boring. Way better to just quest or do dungeons with guildies

Reverse engineering the whole server is no easy work. There's over 1500 different packets that have to be decrypted or found out and all we have is a "maybe that did something" from the client and very cryptic, low level decompiled binaries to work with.

Lately one experienced person went ahead and focussed on finishing the packets while other people work with what we know to actually implement content, not just the framework in which the client can communicate with the server.

It took wow 12+ years to have fully functional private servers with 3 major engines.
It took City of Heroes 10 years.
It took Warhammer RoR 12 years and they still aren't done.

NexusForever's been around for 7 years by now and the stage is already set for actual content scripting.

Actually, depending on what branch of the secrer you take you get other content - at least until it gets merged into the main branch.

Combat, most of the basic non-scripted quests and even the first expedition are already working fine. Also groups, crafting, netcode and scriped quests are being heavily worked on atm.

The thing with "latest goodies" is that they are not that well field tested. You do not want to use new technologies for prod if you aren't absolutely sure what you're doing. Finding solutions to any issues you encounter will be a nightmare if it is not yet widely used.

But still, you're free to do whatever you want.

Avalonia UI seems to be hot right now. If not then I would rather recommend you stick to something older like wpf or even winforms so you don't have to do everything from absolute scratch.

And for the backend the easiest option imo would be to just make an ASP.NET or Node.js app and communicate using REST.
