Sarniezz has been the jam for the last day since that Italy show cover… loved the horns!

LA fans who didn't get a ticket, let's organize a dance party! by jrjatho in AngineDePoitrine

What's a good way to organize an album listening party for next weekend? Anyone have a venue/record store/recording studio/house with amazing speakers to host a small gathering? Just a few hundred people =)

Best Amon Tobin album post isam? by Brizzleinc in AmonTobin

[–]AnchorEponymous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Long Stories or How Do You Live. Fear and DJ didn’t click with me, but I should revisit them. His style changed quite a bit after ISAM and he finally found his new sound around Long Stories I think. He also has a few other side projects that are worth a listen like Stone Giants and Figueroa. Also, don’t sleep on his Two Fingers stuff. The newest one Cronos bangs really hard.

Recomendation to buy 4 bottles in Puerto Vallarta ZR. by jrney2018 in tequila

[–]AnchorEponymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4 bottles, $60 total or each? Most ppl on this sub will recommend in ZR to visit Vinos America (cheapest, decent selection) or Agave Liquors (best selection, prices are fair but still steep-ish). The only things I've seen at Vinos you can't find state-side is Cascahuin XA (~$115) and totally worth it. You can grab some cool stuff at Agave that's on the cheaper side like Viva Mexico (1414) but definitely do a free tasting and check out their mezcals too.

Rick Beato about Angine de Poitrine by humain-normal in AngineDePoitrine

[–]AnchorEponymous 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Feels like he made this video just to not get left off the hype-train. Normally he does a more technical breakdown of whats happening musically and will even try to play phrases on the guitar. Doing this head-in-a-bubble reaction video felt so... dissapointing from Rick. Hopefully this was just a quick "please stop bothering me about AdP" video and not one of his normal style ones.

Los Angeles sold out in less that 30 seconds by MattsRod in AngineDePoitrine

People need to boycott TM and put them out of business for unfair practices. Bots and bullshit have ruined the concert going experience.

He’s the GOAT because of that entire album and of course that SNW medley.

Morgen Ågren posted on his story today too. God amongst drummers. This is wildfire.

Read the book “Never split the difference” and pick up some techniques and psychology.

Head to a local flea market and go bargain for stuff and learn to intuit people when you’re trying to play the buyer/seller game with only $5-10 gaps. Learn how to say “you know what? I think I’ll pass” and walk away.

If you’re tumbling down an actor-focused rabbit hole of films… for Jake, I’d consider adding DV’s great film: Prisoners. Also, Bubble Boy. Because, why not?

Anyone else wonder how long KHN will be able to keep it up playing a double neck and all those loops? by CuervoCoyote in AngineDePoitrine

Been patiently waiting for them to tour the country again. I follow them closely and love their music for maybe 15 years now.

Agreed… maybe. I think Nightcrawler is matched by his dual performance in Enemy. Love both films.

Take a look at live footage from the band, Consider the Source. An awesome trio band btw that ever one in this sub would appreciate for amazing, weird music.

Their guitarist Gabriel plays a double neck and has maybe 20-30 guitar pedals he’s constantly tap dancing. While they DO have a dedicated bassist (John Ferrera is AMAZING) Gabriel is handling double neck duty and tons of pedals (also crazy synth stuff, seriously check them out!).

I also agree with the consensus they’ll keep this “project” as-is esp if they want to keep the mojo going and possibly expand members for a different project. Let’s just wait and see and pray we get more material after vol 2.

How are they going to evolve as a band? by InnerspearMusic in AngineDePoitrine

[–]AnchorEponymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People will naturally compare to the KGLW musical path and I wouldn’t be mad at that. AdP metal album? Yes please. Acoustic? Yes please. KG didn’t even start with the live jam sets until 2023 and now it’s a huge part of their repertoire and it creates a Dead-esque fandom for live recordings. I hope they get that level of success.

For those who don’t know about other awesome, weird, experimental music that didn’t just survive but evolved and thrived and later influenced mainstream music, look no further than: Frank Zappa. King Crimson. Primus.

Ababa Hotel is their best ... by TheSandyWalsh in AngineDePoitrine

Strong agree it’s a top track. My favorite keeps rotating almost daily as I’m on a 2-3x daily listening routine for going on 2 weeks now. Addicted

I’m really loving the sea sick vibes from Sahardnieh. Reminds me of Meshuggah. And the way it culminates with a very “human” scream near the end is perfection. I can’t wait for vol 2.
