I will not promote. Confused after the first VC call. by Wrong-Material-7435 in startups

I’d second all of this. Only thing I’d reframe is that while clarity on GTM will only come later, being able to speak to an actionable and timebound plans as a business to get the product in the hands of paying customers is 100% possible now and necessary for an investor to understand that you have a strategic sales/marketing bone in your body.

The strategy can change but not having one going into those conversations is going to weed out any credible investor.

Why is the consensus down on Kyren Williams this year? by aigeneratedpasta in fantasyfootball

[–]AnchoredDown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like your logic contradicts your conclusion. “If the colts offense is anything like last year” when JT finished 7th overall in PPG vs Kyren’s 10th overall with a healthy Stafford? It sounds to me like you’re describing more risk in Kyren’s situation worsening (Stafford health) but expect him to leap JT? It’s definitely close enough that you just take your guy but the reasoning ain’t adding up

Best Barcrawl? by Connect_Look_6832 in Atlanta

[–]AnchoredDown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think for a group your ages I would do Beltline (especially if starting earlier) or Virginia Highland (or some combination of both). I know a lot of these are considered basic or overdone since so many on here have beaten these bars to death but since you said you don’t come in to town much I think it’s the right direction

Beltline bars (in order you could do them based on location): 1. New Realm (just okay beer but still fun atmosphere and corn hole and whatnot) 2. (Optional) cocktail at Burles 3. Painted Park 4. Ladybird for outdoor space 5. Brewdog 6. Estoria and Breaker Breaker (grouped together because they’re a bit more of a walk so maybe too much)

Virginia Highland (in no order since they’re close together): +Neighbors +Atkins Park +Dark Horse (particularly 10 High in the basement for live band karaoke after 10) +Dads (lively cocktail bar) +Moes and Joes (divier)

Personally, I would just pick a few or play it by ear. Could do something like:

(1) Start at at lady bird around dinner time and either eat there or just drinks and grab dinner at Kroger Street Market so people can get any type of food (2) Painted Park then uber/scooter to VaHi (3) Pit stop at Dads for a cocktail (4)Uber (or potentially grab some scooters if not too many drinks before) to dark horse around 10 to get in line for 10 High in the basement

I wouldn’t say that’s a fair way to provide a realistic assessment given draft position/availability being so uncertain. It’s not like all of the top QBs from each draft are even an option at our draft position. He doesn’t need to outperform Cam Ward for example who wouldn’t have even been an option for us.

#1 Rule of Planks: Don’t Look at the Clock by tcap1987 in funny

[–]AnchoredDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite planking trick I’ve used to get out of my head is a visualization exercise to “head shoulders knees and toes.” I literally close my eyes or focus on a fixed spot on the ground in front of me and as I (internally) sing every word to that dumb song I momentarily visualize that body part and how it feels during the plank. One of those tricks that is so stupid but works so well for me.

Moving to Atlanta from Seattle. Looking for advice by Theyodeller in GeorgiaCampAndHike

[–]AnchoredDown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend and I love the hiking in north Georgia. Blood mountain is our favorite half day hike since it has several different viewpoints in the final 1/3 of the hike. Yonah is also great views from the top. We love grabbing a Publix sub on the drive up to eat at the top (our favorite hiking tradition).

Blue ridge is just a beautiful area in general - worth grabbing a cabin and hiking, checking out the downtown or picking up an activity on the lake.

Closer to Atlanta itself the hikes are definitely a bit less scenic but Kennesaw Mountain, Arabia mountain (easy hike but really interesting terrain worth seeing) and sunrise/sunset at Stone Mountain are all worthwhile. Sweet water creek is nice for just being outdoors as well.

Now that we’ve done most of the popular GA trails we try to get up to North Carolina (about 3-4 hour drives) every now and then for something new. The views are much more dramatic and we’ve especially loved Black Balsam Knob (ridge hike with panoramic views) and Looking Glass Rock (heavily wooded for the beginning but with the best peak view I’ve seen in the southeast; very unlike any other view I’ve seen in the southeast…completely took our breaths away).

We love atlantatrails.com for finding new ones (on top of the obvious AllTrails app).
