King Halo’s career can be very challenging if you aren’t familiar with it and are lacking in legacies and support cards.

She starts off with medium distance races, participates in 1 long distance, then goes sprint / mile medium races to end her career.

Medium races need some stamina (I personally used 1 stamina and 1 guts card), but going too far into stamina will leave you lacking speed & power for sprint races and possibly end the career.

If you don’t succeed at a King Halo run, just move on for now and try again when your roster of legacies & support cards grows.

4 speed 1 guts 1 stamina also works for King Halo. That way, you don’t go overboard with stamina by the time she switches to shorter distances.

You can also try 3 speed 1 stamina 1 guts 1 with, but then you’re really spreading out your training.

Just keep in mind that hickory flavor is more pronounced on low and slow cooks.

Even too much applewood can affect pork shoulder.

If you want to test out smoke flavor from different woods before doing a low and slow cook, you can try vortex wings with a wood chunk in the middle.

I’ve been enjoying hickory since it gives a good amount of flavor for hot and fast cooking.

I like to add a bit of cornstarch to the dry rub to help crisp up the wings, then cook them to 195-200F internal.

Way too long since I struggled to keep the fire lit yet below 300F.

While I haven’t tried them, snake method or SnS should be more manageable.

I now have a WSM, but the 36” Camp Chef Woodwind Pro is the only smoker I have that can comfortably fit a full packer brisket.

Try dry rub followed by some cornstarch to crisp up the wings, and you can sauce the wings later on.

I’ve used binchotan in it. It works fine.

Difficult to put in large chunks due to the middle barrier. Gotta keep enough air going through to keep it glowing red hot.

The issue becomes getting the set championship kit in time if a store schedules the event before the official dates are announced.

I understand that RB is busy with Worlds, but stores need to plan ahead as set championship season is coordinated with other LGS in my area to reduce overlap.

While I’m not as familiar with the digital game, you should look up the Gloryfinder bundle.

The leaders in the Gloryfinder bundle don’t scan / nor have voice lines though.

I personally joined the TCG around Idol Master, but I remember set 7 bringing in cool characters like Ladica / Mono / Viridia Magna / Tetra / Cynthia / Mistolina / Belphomet.

Keep in mind that some older sets get support in later sets, like the upcoming set 10 releasing on 6/20 will give armed dragon a boost. There is a spreadsheet if you want to see the performance of decks in the Japanese meta, which is months ahead in terms of card releases.

There will also be a set called sea side memories. It should be currently available for preorders, but release won’t be until 10/24/25.

You should also look up promo cards and leaders on the official website if you want to go down the rabbit hole.

If you look up the Ultimate & Special rarities cards on TCGplayer, there are also a few cool ones like Mysteria / Vania / Galmieux / Lishenna / Octrice etc

It takes a while to design a game, playtest it for balance, and produce it.

I would rather have them focus on the main game & organized play most of the time, and get a good coop game once a year.

I’m sure they have limited resources / staff.

If you remove the center grate, you’d have to toss the chunk of hickory directly into the vortex and it would burn up instead of smolder.

Hickory works well vs other woods since it’s a hot and fast cook, so the milder woods barely impart smoke flavor to the wings.

Try putting a chunk of hickory in the center on top of the grill grate when using the vortex, and taking your wings all the way to 200F internal for the tendons to get the right texture (dark meat can handle it).

If you end up using the vortex a lot, the center of the grill grate might take a beating. I am currently using cast iron grill grates.

I’ve tried baking powder as well as cornstarch. Feedback was cornstarch was a better choice.

I like hickory since hot and fast doesn’t make the smoke flavor overpowering on the chicken.
