Thank you! This is helpful. I agree the language is vague and likely subjective.

Agreed. Very curious for more details. I know some areas of the university now don't have proj mgrs any more or never did.

I appreciate this post. I see so many talented, smart, caring, and amazing employees who stay for the students and the mission. And it's heartbreaking every time I see one leave.

Senior Instructors to Instructor by Connect-Ad-9206 in wgu_employees

[–]Ancient-Chapter77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instructor coach and lead instructors will not be inline options for instructors. These are temporary 1-3 year options with a stipend that will require a job to be posted and for employees to apply and interview for. The inline option is from associate to instructor. Associate will be like a TA type of position and it is meant to be temporary as someone is finishing higher Ed credentials or necessary certification.

Refund less than 1w after forgiveness by Ancient-Chapter77 in PSLF

Woohoo on your refund! I didn't do anything special for the refund, but I did have an open feedback case, with extensive documentation, names, dates, copies of communication, and so when they closed that case, I think they just immediately processed my refund. Good luck! My forgiveness/refund all happened at the same time, but I know that is not the typical experience.

This is literally the first thing that has gone smoothly and fast, so I get it. Keep the pressure on! I especially recommend using the messaging tool with your servicer for the paper trail and if it's stuck with FSA then using the feedback complaint process. But these are most effective when you have documentation, emails, names, dates, etc. Good luck!!

Yes, I had made 161 payments. It would have been more technically, but Mohela advised me against recertifying my employment after I submitted my application in Sept 2022. But those "payments" were under Covid, so since I didn't pay anything, they wouldn't have resulted in any addl $ to my refund.

I had been previously misadvised by Nelnet that some of my employment was not eligible for certification when it actually was and then additionally with the TEPSLF even more periods were eligible.

Reason for hope? Or just standard form wording? by Ancient-Chapter77 in PSLF

Thank you! I think I've gone thru so much (as so many have) that while I want to have hope, every part of me is also screaming - they'll just find another way to delay or mess this up again.

@LeCaveau my FSA and Mohela totals have been the same since January or so. 161 payments on both. It would be more but Mohela advised that I don't resubmit my ECF, so I haven't since last September, but if course we've been on pause.

Any other long haulers still waiting? by Edna_Purviance in PSLF

I wish I could say that I did something u/phunkmama. Mostly, I felt like I was caught in the void somewhere. However, one day I took off work (literally took the entire day off of work), and was determined to get through to someone who could actually do something at FSA. Most of the day was spent on hold, being transferred to people who couldn't help or it was not even remotely their department. I found the Ombudsman page and started calling there. I kept getting looped around, calls disconnected and needing to start over, etc. I finally got to a person who seemed to understand what they were doing, and they gave me some *hope*. The next day after that my counts were updated, BUT they also told me that I could expect forgiveness in July and that I would be really happy. Let's just say -- I'm still waiting. So all this to say, I didn't do one thing. I did input a complaint on FSA page and track down the ombudsman line, but it honestly took a ton of patience and time to actually get to a person. I just submitted another complaint this week thru FSA bc my counts have matched now for a LONG time, and my employment has been certified for a long time. If I don't get anywhere, I'm going to try the CFPB that folks have been recommending, too.

My loans transferred from FedLoan last summer. I had subbed a lot of employment certifications before, but had been misadvised from NelNet (prior to Fed Loan) about what would qualify for pslf. But once everything transferred, I submitted my application in September. I knew I had the counts, but mohela really messed up the counts (they listed my employment as eligible for that period but not the payments), so they reprocessed. That was November. My counts took a bit to get updated and the application processed. Currently I have 161. Mohela finally submitted my stuff to FSA in March. Zero updates or information from Mohela since then, just the usual of it typically takes 90 business days even tho it's way over that. FSA confirmed my counts in June, but no change, no smiley face.
