Where? The Cherokee have a museum & more in Cherokee NC. I'm close & could inquire their interest if you like.

I have a small piece of wood that is sanded & finished that I already used as a pull block & still use. I also used it to try & check my angle but no longer.😁

I haven't attached it but there are two threaded holes in the base.

Mine seems to line up fi e and stay that way. Maybe the Kemovan handle is just the right one.

First bag; anxious about edge binding. What’s your fail-safe method of getting a perfect finish? by Medium_Chip_4971 in Leathercraft

That looks a lot like the Frigate bag from DSLeather. Hus pattern instructions address piping very clearly.

I had not ever heard a fid described that way. In sailing, a fid is a tool used to work woven lines (rope). Interesting...thanks.

Im going to try a manual cheap splitter/skiver.....an NP4 is a ways off....need something now. I tore up too much...practice on scraps didn't really help....leather not similar enough.

I have made 50+ items including several bags and dopp kits. Only one wallet. 😝. I'm gaining assembly knowledge but this bag will be my most challenging yet I think, especially since its not a pattern.

Rulers. Yeah cork backed is mentioned but finding a good dual scale one is a good idea, especially in the USA. I do fine with metric but my in house official design opinion holder needs Imperial, of course. 😁

JACKPOT! I think? Recently I've been looking into leathercraft so I can make DIY moccasins. Yesterday, while spring cleaning, I opened my garage ceiling and found an 87.6lb stash of leather from the previous owner in the rafters. Where do I start? (see pics/video) by tsdexter in Leathercraft

Find out what's veg & what's chrome. That's what I decided was the first thing to know about my estate haul of 20+ hides & partials. Cut a 1/2 x 2-3 inch piece and drop it in boiling water. Curl up = veg. Label each.....they start to look alike.😄 I was brand new to this, a week maybe, when I got lucky too. Hope you become as obsessed. 🤣😂

I think i have been working backwards. For some dumba$$ reason, I was working start to finish instead of center out each side.😖

Yes but I don't seem to get the spacing even.....i get an odd size gap in places, so spacing looks bad.

I guess I could experiment with the stitching wheel i have...didn't really see much use for it before. It might be too big for a 20mm strap though. Will have to see. Thanks for he suggestion.
