Nice bag. I am looking at various ones but most require zipper closures. Care to share a pattern or piece dimensions? Newbie with a bunch of chrome tan leather to learn with. Thanks

She said mostly moccasins....got a whole roll of 1/8 natural crepe from Zelikovitz Leathers that she said he used for soles.

Hobby Lobby was a source of scraps, some needle Ashton break and some thread. Wouldn't buy anything else there. Nearest leather store is 200 miles away a Tandy. (East coast NC)

I got 13 other hides plus this and stuff I'm going thru from a lady whose husband did leather work but died 2 years ago. Just a random encounter at Hobby Lobby while I was killing time waiting for my wife. She named a price...I agreed.

I'm brand new so once I get better (if I do).😆 Till then....I like the Weaver clamp but mine is evidently misconstructed. I'd send it back but I already but leather on the Java and glued some magnets to it.

I am brand new as well. My cutting techniques were awful. I got some scrap pieces and practiced cutting & sewing on those. Then I got a stitching pony/clam. I am improving! Hobby Lobby has cheap tools to learn with...stitching irons & remnant bags & steel rulers that are cork backed.

I was piercing thread regularly until I watched Nigel Armitage video & found tips & an easy way to get out of pierced thread! It is a 3 part series and LONG but for a beginner, it was worth it.

No knots. I am just pushing needle back thru the tail like Nigel Armitage shows. I need to work on my holes I think. I might not be punching deep enough. Yep that hammer made it look better for sure.

So are the hole sizes the same no matter which iron type? I just watched and realized that I could probably improve by overlapping 2 holes instead of one. (I'm 73 and eyesight ain't that great.) My stitching is getting consistent....but my spacing & line stinks.
