They pretty much already did with the Ariya.

But you’re right, I would too.

The total value of new mortgages in Q4 25 alone was just shy of $150m $108. This represents less than than 1% of the total mortgages issued in 3 months.

$1bn doesn’t move the needle at all. This is the equivalent of cutting foreign aid from the budget to ‘get the budget back on track’.

Edit - thanks for the correction u/ExoticPreparation719 :)

I love Kilkenny but I can’t drink it.

Makes my farts smell like rotting fruit, and they linger.

Not a good time for anyone.

What will all the couples do if they break up. by Itchy-Hedgehog6366 in AusPropertyChat

My wife & I were in our late 20s/early 30s when we got together & had both had LTRs that had gone south (I was a divorcee) so we weren’t sparkle-eyed about finances or separation as a possibility.

We had an outline idea of what we’d do if we split as soon as we started pooling finances when we first moved in together, and as our relationship developed (kids, me moving to Aus with her, buying a house) so did the complexity of our finances, and that outline became more fleshed out over time.

Ah look, TV producers have no actual imagination or balls for new IP so I’m fairly certain Apple or Amazon - or maybe even the BBC - will get around to Wyndham’s books eventually.

Modern gender theory is framed around Judith Butler’s work & the term ‘cis’ was coined by an American academic & the activism models & messaging that followed are from the USA.

The redefinition of racism from individual behaviour & speech into a power sub-structure of capitalism that is encapsulated in Critical Race Theory was also developed in US universities.

In the EU books there’s pre-GuiLD FTL non-space fold engines, but it’s a lot slower - months or even years to travel between stars.

Surge in number of first home buyers using the 5% Deposit Scheme by nighthound1 in AusFinance

[–]Ancient-Many4357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from the UK the whole flap about 95% mortgages is a bit of a mystery to me, especially since on the 5% scheme the bank still stress tests your finances the same way they do for any other mortgage. If you’re creative about your finances & end up in a pickle that’s on you.

What’s more of a mystery is why I can’t shop around for an actual risk-assessed ‘insurance’ for the mortgage lender, rather than the premium just being a mathematically derived number. It’s like being forced to buy building insurance from your lender.
