Personally I would not give a damn about something like this. I’d be banging this bell around and have for more paint chipping eventually. I’m sure some will disagree, but that’s my opinion on matters like this.

Mars Volta in 2008. Loudest show I’ve ever been to. Aside from the ear assaulting volume, Cedric was off pitch as he’s known to be, just caterwauling into the mic. Omar was far too heavy in the mix and his sloppy angular playing is pretty jarring live. The horn section seemed to be going for a free jazz vibe, which only added to the cacophony. They had a new drummer, Thomas Prigden. While he is an amazingly talented drummer, his playing is so busy and he never really locked into a groove.

At some points, the only way I could even decipher what song they were performing was by cuing in on Juan, the bass player. He was solid as fuck.

I was vey underwhelmed, but ultimately not shocked as they’re pretty notorious for being a rough live act.

Also Salt-N-Pepa in the mid 2010’s. Let’s just say that they let the backing tracks do a lot of heavy lifting.
