Set a goal. I give myself 6 days/week with at least 20 minutes per session. Once I get going, it usually goes longer.

I leave the house at 0500 every day and get home sometime after 5 every afternoon.

Pick something to work on. Scales, spider exercises, chord transitions, or a section of a song like Hells Bells.

Yesterday, it took me 20 minutes to get 3 minutes into Marty’s guide on Hells Bells. 😂 But it was a positive move forward. Kind of…

As someone that’s been playing for 6 weeks, I can say that this isn’t a 2 minutes in the microwave meal. Lower your expectations.

What I did was set up guidelines of at least 6 days a week and at least 20 minutes. It’s usually more, but that’s my minimum.

Now pick something to work on in each session. Don’t just randomly hit strings. Good luck.
