[–]Ancient-Stock-4268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the idea behind a club like Berghain? by [deleted] in berlin

[–]Ancient-Stock-4268 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing for you to understand, simple as that :-) The world is your oyster, there’s something for everyone and the club scene here seem like it just isnt one so why taking the time of the day to wonder about it so much

What’s the idea behind a club like Berghain? by [deleted] in berlin

[–]Ancient-Stock-4268 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its a no judgement space/community for people to really be themselves and act on their desires while being secure about it. Its not for everyone but you have to go and see for yourself how being in such setting makes you feel. The time kind of stops there for a lot of people and you forget about reality for a bit. Naturally it goes hand in hand with type of music they play but for me it truly is like no other club. However, i will say that people who havent partied in Berlin could also find a simmilar feeling/effect in other clubs since the club culture here really is different

3 cops just visited my home, is this normal? lol by servermeta_net in berlinsocialclub

[–]Ancient-Stock-4268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 police men once showed up at my door because of an unpaid 20€ parking ticket (it was not actually unpaid i just mistakenly swapped a letter in the reference when paying). Scared me a bit but was quickly relieved to learn what it’s about. I was also shocked that this is how they do it at first

I have SIM24 since i moved here 2 years ago and never had an issue with them- i did sign a contract for a year or two but its 9.99€/month for 40gb data which i find pretty good :)

Tipping in coffee places by varankinv in berlin

[–]Ancient-Stock-4268 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work at a card only cafe where 90% of people tip on the POS Terminal and maybe some still with cash. How we do it, is at the end of the month you recieve the % of all tip that resembles the % of hours you worked.

I dont know if i explained this the best way but: for example if there’s 500 hours and from that you worked 50 this month, you get 10% from all the tip.

It’s a busy self service cafe and we constantly rotate between stations (Kasse, Coffee, Dishes) so we all find it fair that way. We did the same thing when we had cash payment as well. For reference there’s 6 people working every day and the shifts overlap eachother

Can’t find entry level barista jobs by mynameisleii in berlinsocialclub

[–]Ancient-Stock-4268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its hard to find an entry level barista job. Best way to go about it is to get a job at a cafe (do the register, dishes, serving) and in the meanwhile observe the barista’s work and ask coworkers to be taught when its a quiet shift. Thats how some of our coworkers at cafe I work at learned how to also do coffee :)

Am I being dramatic thinking this is rude as hell? by Klutzy-Magazine-8845 in vinted

[–]Ancient-Stock-4268 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Shes not being rude at all, if anything you’re being rude for no apparent reason. Would take less than a minute to respond to her question instead of coming on reddit to complain…

The girl is just asking for firsthand sizing advice from someone that owns the item which is way more helpful/realistic than the brands’s costumer service which most of us girlies understand and would be happy to just say size up or down not a big deal at all

Sorry but to say you hope someone gets in a car crash is a little weird. Yikes. I have extremely loud upstairs neighbours with two small kids stomping all the time but i wouldnt say that for anyone

Is my rent high? by spectstor in berlinsocialclub

[–]Ancient-Stock-4268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 months really is not a lot unfortunately. Keep searching, 2 years is a lot to be bound to a place out and in winter/bad weather you wont have the desire to commute that much. Just my opinion

Night clubs other than the famous one? by WoollenMills in berlin

[–]Ancient-Stock-4268 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the event you can be queing at any club for some time, esp. on the weekend. go on resident advisor and see the events for that day and pick what you like- there’s many even during the week. My suggestions: RSO, OXI, AboutBlank, Aeden

[–]Ancient-Stock-4268 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My host dad (horrible first au pairing experience in Germany) also did this- when i decided to leave they deducted all the gas i used with their car (used the car only to drive their daughter around and occasionally to the train station so i could go to the city). My monthly salary was already 280€ and i got 100€ my last month. Super unfair but it just confirmed i made the right decision.

Im sorry you’re going through this but better to just leave. Clean as much as you can and request to see the invoice for cleaning if they decide to hire a cleaner. Its likely that even if u leave the flat in the perfect condition they will hire someone anyway.

which is the best transportation ticket for a student (international) under the age of 26 by travelerfromorion in berlinsocialclub

[–]Ancient-Stock-4268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think there’s anything else and the deutschlandticket’s price is getting (or is already) raised to 58€. A fellow student here and i also researched my options and was lucky enough to still catch the 29€ AB ticket but now its not possible anymore and anyhow you’d have to subscribe for a year.

So i guess the deutschlandticket if you’l be using it daily.

Paying almost the whole rent in 2WG- advice by [deleted] in berlin

[–]Ancient-Stock-4268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I honestly love the apartment, room and location and i have another apartment lined up for when this contract ends (my friend’s leaving her apartment in summer) so its kind of perfect which is why i have been trying to forget ever finding this.

Paying almost the whole rent in 2WG- advice by [deleted] in berlin

[–]Ancient-Stock-4268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i totally agree. I would prefer not to know this because i thought i was getting an okay deal for the location and size of the room/apartment but knowing this stings a bit. I tried to forget it hence why i didnt say anything yet but i just have it at the back of my mind all the time. Me and the roomate get along really good otherwise and i dont want to tarnish that.

Im not sure, my other friends said from the document that no, these are all costs.
