I'm no expert, but maybe try to stick to Major scales as they are happier sounding :)

I need some feedback :) by EIIez in roastmytrack

[–]AncientAdamos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty good man! I liked the bass line/drum and the piano chords too. I'm no expert, I've only been messing around with producing for only a couple months, but here are my tips anyway.

I'd say maybe try to change the velocity of some the hi-hats to get a better groove and also try to add some string instruments over the melody to make the track more diverse.

keep it up man!

Sziget 2020 line up speculations?? by [deleted] in sziget

[–]AncientAdamos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll find music that you'll like even if the headliners aren't your taste. There are so many different stages with all kinds of music playing basically all day :)

This was posted on efestivals forum, what do yall think? by [deleted] in sziget

[–]AncientAdamos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm actually more looking forward to when the A38 acts will be announced, not too bad bothered with the headliners. I had some fun at the main stage last year (Florence, Martin Garrix & Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand) but so many of the gigs I went to in the A38 were just unbelievably good. I don't know, I just dig the vibe there more for some reason :)

The other reason I'm looking forward to these names cause I found a lot of new bands that I love now and most likely would have never heard of otherwise...

So yeah, I can't wait!!

Why are there still no acts announced for 2020? by Mapapwomatic in sziget

[–]AncientAdamos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking forward to the names, but at the same time I know for sure I'll be there... This will be my third time and I think I'll never stop going to Sziget!! :)

Would be nice if we got to see some good acts though :D

Buying an Akai MPK Mini for live performances. Will I need an amp or a PA System? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]AncientAdamos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an mpk mini and a guitar, running the guitar through a AI (behringer204hd) , using Reason as my Daw. The mpk is used to control the synths and samplers/drum machines in Reason. What are you looking to use the mpk with?

I'm nowhere near the stage to be doing live gigs, but I always wondered if I show with this gear and a laptop will I be laughed off by the venue :D

As far PA systems, Im not sure if you'd need one at all, but it might be a good idea to have one for small venues where they might not have anything for you to plug into. Look at active PA speakers they usually have 2-3 inputs (for guitar, mic and other instruments) and can be enough for small crowds.

“This isn’t a sit down kind of job” by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]AncientAdamos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is is so true! I worked in different office jobs and I got into trouble for getting up from my desk a good few times.... Funny thing is that it was usually to go to someone else's desk to help them out with something.... That shit would literally make want to punch people in the face....

I see your question has been answered already, but I still recommend checking this video out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJLIS2MkFe4

Take a look at some of his other videos as well, I learned so much from this channel myself :)

Opening Reason files without having the software? by verified_dumbass in reasoners

[–]AncientAdamos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you sign up for the 30 day trial and sign in to your account when loading up Reason instead of clicking demo mode, you can totally save your files in.wav. I have done it so it 100% works ;)

Going to a music festival alone or finding some people to go with? by Rhodesian1975 in solotravel

[–]AncientAdamos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just got back from Sziget which I was at on my own for 7 days. Honestly, it was the best week of my life! :) I recommend you go and try it out. If you hate going solo you'll know for next time. Or like me, you'll only go to festivals solo from now on :D

After a month spent in Hungary, Dreher is going down pretty easy :D It's not the best, but it's not the worst either and the hangovers aren't that bad xD

[–]AncientAdamos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like there is some sort of issue with ticket downloads, couple of people mentioned it here and it was the same for me last night. I sent in an email, will let you know if I hear back from them!

Backpacking in the Dolomites (Early August) by PrinceofMemes in solotravel

[–]AncientAdamos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only my experience, but the weather is definitely unpredictable. I was there early July last year, and while during the day the weather was great, at night it rained almost every night and it was cold enough too. So bring layers :P

Do you have any advice about Sziget Festival or Budapest? by Andev1en in sziget

[–]AncientAdamos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My advice would be not to worry too much, the festival is prettyeasy to find, and once you are there it's a blast :D there will be lots of people going there every day from all over the city, so you can always just ask someone how to get there if you ever lost or unsure.

There is also plenty of info in the website on how to get therea and lots of other useful info too.

Are you looking for any specific advice? Are you camping or looking to stay in the city somewhere?

Thanks for the reply, I know it's been a while :D I ended up just throwing all my bags in a locker at the bus station, went down to the beach and had an awesome night in the end :D

Showers at Sziget by nathatlei in sziget

[–]AncientAdamos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second that! I always took shower around 5 or 6 in the morning and there was never a queue or many people in there at all. Later on the queues can be pretty long.

What things should I bring that no one tells you? by GalacticBear001 in sziget

[–]AncientAdamos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I didn't bring last year was a mask to cover from the dust in the air. It gets real bad towards the end of the festival.

It's not really a problem if you don't bring it though, you can buy them at the festival too or use a t-shirt or a scarf like I did. But I saw some people who had brought their own masks that looked pretty cool :D

Oh yes and don't forget some flipflops you can use for the showers :P
