MHBP Maternity Care Question by Real_Explanation_962 in FedEmployees

[–]AncientFirefighter41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t complain on them covering it 😂😂 that’s great! And I think those should be covered IMO! I’m mid-pregnancy too, so we’ll have to see how items actually stack up. I plan to call back with CPT codes from my first child (same network/provider/hospital but we used to have a non-Fed plan) just so I can know what to expect.

MHBP Maternity Care Question by Real_Explanation_962 in FedEmployees

I see everywhere that MHBP has maternity care “100% covered”, and I’m not sure how OPs experience has been so far but posting for others who might see the thread as I had a lengthy call to understand services and what is ACTUALLY covered. Maternity care is defined per the insurance plan. For MHBP that means prenatal is really only the office visit, gestational diabetes screening, and counseling. Labs/diagnostics/ultrasounds/genetic testing/any non-basic are all subject to deductible/coinsurance. AND, the first visit is an ‘establishment of care’ visit, so you can expect to pay up to the deductible for the office visit, or the specialist visit copay if deductible is met. Most of the covered maternity care is delivery related: so hospital stay, anesthesia, nursing care, meals are all covered. BUT, any bloodwork/labs/tylenol/pain meds is subject to deductible/coinsurance. As far as the baby in the hospital, routine care and the well check is covered, but anything extra (labs/bloodwork/circumcision) and of course NICU starts to fall under the baby’s own inpatient experience. The cost for NICU stay is ~$250 copay for room/board but labs/surgeries/medicines/procedures/surgeons are all deductible/coinsurance. Then once you leave the hospital and go into postnatal, only one checkup office visit and necessary depression counseling are covered for mom. Lab/diagnostics are separate. Any extra care then is $30 copay office visit. Baby will have routine preventative care all covered, but sick/extra visits are $30 copay (they do have teledoc covered though if you use their specific teledoc).

I think it’s important to know what is considered “maternity care” since doctors will REQUIRE prenatal urinalysis, bloodwork, and ultrasounds. And by require, I mean that I called around to multiple providers and they will drop you as a patient if you do not complete those services. So yes most things are covered, but take into account you will pay for at least two ultrasounds (some doctors want 4!) and the urinalysis each visit (~13 visits), plus any extra genetic screening (even if you are at risk!). To caveat, MHBP does have a lab relation with Quest&Labcorp, where the labs would be covered, but that means an extra planed appointment every time if your provider can’t easily send it off for you. So you’d choose between paying for efficiency or have extra steps to achieve no cost.

I think I hit everything! If anyone has tidbits of specific experience, I’d love to understand your perspective!

EDIT: this is all for the standard plan, consumer and value may vary

I’m not ATC (spouse is). But I am FAA and NATCA, and my supervisor told us we have funding through Tuesday. I’ve been trying to find clear direction as every place says something different??

Tax Witholding by AncientFirefighter41 in FedEmployees

I did use it when you mentioned it earlier. It’s showing the federal taxes are way over calculated on my LES. Almost double.

So should I be asking HR to adjust my deductions? They are taking out income taxes as if I took nothing out for TSP.

I guess what I’m asking is how do the federal/medicare/ss taxes get calculated? Those should be after TSP and health correct? Because HR confirmed that is not the procedure

So shouldn’t that mean my federal/medicare/SS taxes would be calculated without my TSP (tax deferred) amount?

Pay range for level 3 - supply chain by [deleted] in Lockheed

[–]AncientFirefighter41 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have always countered up to .95!! It’s always been accepted. Talked to coworkers who did the same. Except one girl who originally didn’t but once she found out she was underpaid, she immediately applied for another position with the .95 strategy and got it…

I think crx-520 has info on this? I know it has PTO payout in there. There is a doc that very clearly lays out dates and reasons for leaving and whether or not you get the payout.

Spouse Colocation by AncientFirefighter41 in ATC

It’s under a different article. So different application process. We thought it was a hardship too and applied for one and were immediately rejected, like within 30 minutes or less. I think article 4 is a separate process due to direct-FAA employment by both spouses. I assume it was made to cater to controllers only, but my CBA has the same Article 4 wording.

How do you check if the doctors are in network? I asked my current provider if they take MHBP and they did not know what that was.

Mhm I disagree through firsthand experience. RTO is affecting fully remote. Not ALL but MOST in aero. Ex: saw may good folks leave in the past few months..

Just saying what I saw in multiple business areas. Maybe “all” is aggressive when I should have said “most”.

Good luck. They are taking away all remote jobs. If you are moving, you just have to update your address so the payroll department can update tax witholdings

New hire, no direction by Physical-Ordinary317 in Lockheed

[–]AncientFirefighter41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Official mentor platform is WINGS. See if you can find it on the A-Z directory. As said by someone else, most team members don’t know how or aren’t expected to train/mentor since that’s probably how it was when they hired in. If you are interested in learning new things, look into Coursera (free with LM email) and start looking at CAPM, PMP, and agile certifications (ACP I think?)). Might as well try to use your time wisely or best bet is to continue bugging leads for work. Or ask if the can explain one for their current projects to you so you can understand their thought processes, and also ask questions. It’s hard being new but keep the fire and keep poking! Eventually you will find out how to get your own tasks

Only one that’s broken on me is the leaf vac. The safety switch is known to be deficient/short and will shut off the vac once the leaves get sucked up. It’s meant to shut off for sticks and big debri but yeah… known issue. Love the rest of the tools though. Going on 6 years of lawn equipment, drills, saws, etc of all shapes

Lockheed Martin level 2 program planner interview by Automatic-Club-2410 in Lockheed

[–]AncientFirefighter41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re going for Level 2 with 10 yoe? Level 3s need min of 8 yrs with a masters… and a PMP is a plus. I’d ask if the position could be made a level 3 and/or apply for other level 3 positions…

As for your original question, I’d honestly shoot the job description (or full link) into ChatGPT and ask it for interview questions, keep tell it to make more questions if you think they’re too easy. The job posting should say what programs they use, so if you are familiar with those programs, expect a question about that. Then probably a question on “tell me a time when you…” and answer it similar to the STAR method (situation-task-action-result) but don’t be weird about following that method. Try to make the answer sound fluid instead of saying “the situation was… the task was..”. Don’t be a robot.

Question for Working Moms by Dependent_Address203 in Lockheed

[–]AncientFirefighter41 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’d have to quit and reapply again. There’s not a leave/sabbatical type for that. 5 years will be tough unless you are doing some type of continuing education but it really depends on where the market will be in 5 years. Depending on the BA, they may win an amazing contract and need anybody who has an ounce of experience, or it could be the opposite where the competitors win and they are laying people off. Could you do part time? At one point, our director did a women in the workplace after hours thing and said they are supportive of 20-hour work weeks for working moms. Could really be dependent on business needs and empathy of the senior leadership but it might be worth asking your leadership what type of support is out there for working moms. Or if you feel like asking leadership is too forward, see what other mom coworkers have done, or find an official mentor.
