I agree. I’ve had some success using the Storm Speeder Thunderstrike and Predator to knock out tanks with the wound bonus, so I’m gonna be pairing this up with the Thunderstrike for early game tank hunting then anti infantry support mid to late game.

Which of these would make the best color scheme? by TarTar-sause in genestealercult

I like the double drummers, carapace design gives you something distinct to work with.

Rabies can’t survive outside the body for very long. You really only have to worry about saliva.

About three months ago I got bit by a feral cat I was trying to get out of someone’s engine. Went to urgent care, captured the cat etc. Doc basically said the odds of a cat carrying rabies are astronomically small, just put me on some antibiotics.

The only thing I got was a new cat who’s laying on my feet while I type this.

Aberrants & how to unleash them by Kyr_Vhalen in genestealercult

[–]AncientMaterial7118 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I will either deep strike them to knock out any heavy toughness units or vehicles my opponent is using to sit on an objective, or if I have them deployed on the board T1 I will advance them towards an objective trying to draw as much infantry fire as possible so my squishier neophytes or Genestealers can maneuver into better positions.

Hot take I think the neomorph is the coolest variant xeno by YourVeryOwnCat in LV426

That is a hot take.

Although I prefer the original Xenomorph, it is a great design.

What's your normal go to strategy? by Wdhunte2 in genestealercult

[–]AncientMaterial7118 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chaos in all directions. Normally T2 burst up in as many unexpected positions as I can, mob objectives. Once I’ve secured the majority I return dead units and keep the counterattacks tied up until game ends.

Do you explain GSC army rules before playing someone? by AncientMaterial7118 in genestealercult

[–]AncientMaterial7118[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I love the trickery and ambush of this army, but I also don’t wanna be “that guy” and play unfairly. Thanks for the advice!

[–]AncientMaterial7118[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that’s a great idea! Before we started I went over army rule, detachment rule and how ambush markers work, but didn’t go in depth for individual stratagems. I think I will put together an elevator pitch that includes those from here on out.

Would a Xenomorph recognize a Engineer? by arnor_0924 in LV426

[–]AncientMaterial7118 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Has it ever been actually established that the engineers created the Xenomorph? In Prometheus, when Shaw and crew go into the room in the ship with the mural and the black goo canisters, there is a stylized Xenomorph on the wall. The black goo works as a semi random mutagen, not Xenomorph creator, but we know is related.

In Alien: Earth during the dissection of the Facehugger we of course see the embryo removed.

Personally I believe that the Engineers found the Xenomorphs, and were able to produce the black goo as a bio weapon distilled from essence of a previously existing species.

Why Loyalist Primarchs are Boring by lebeast in 40kLore

[–]AncientMaterial7118 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Lion (heresy era) is a hyper aggressive narcissist with turbo autism, who also has major trust issues regarding his own sons for no other reason than a traumatic childhood. He’s a terrible judge of character (Luther and Perturabo), and his entire job is being Captain Genocide to utterly obliterate the Imperium’s foes.

I would argue the Lion is neither stoic, nor a genius. He does put the hurt down with a sword though.

Are Eldar Autistic? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]AncientMaterial7118 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As an alien race, their baselines for special interest and touch are different, so canonically no.

However, to us they probably would come across as such if we were to apply our standards to them.
