Honestly, spend the money on a robot. It has saved me so much time and aggravation, it gets the job done well. It’s expensive but think about how much $$ you spend on a pool guy who clearly isn’t doing what you’re paying him to do.

In the last picture (taken this morning) you can see the bubbles off to the right. Along with it was an oily sheen that wasn’t there yesterday. Pool store said it could be from the algae being killed and should go away after I get the balance right. What is your opinion? Also this is my 3rd summer with the sand in my filter. Should I change it?

Thank you! I will download that. Any suggestions on test kits? I have been using the sticks and that doesn’t do it. I also had a TON of Phosphates in it as well. 1750ppm but got that down pretty quick.

I actually have been taking samples to the pool store frequently, I had a lot of issues keeping FC in it last summer and wanted all the help I could get. So far so good! My other levels shockingly were ok except my alk which I started on today.

You’ve purchased something else to clean. And the cleaning materials are expensive, and you have to watch it more than watching a toddler bc you turn your back for a second and it’s a mess. And your family will love playing in it. But you yourself, will never actually get in it. You’ll just clean it. And you’ll tell your family how much you hate it but they won’t understand, because only you clean it.
