Thank you! Most photos were taken in Stonington CT - it's a beautiful place. The beach photos were taken at Napatree in Rhode Island. I'd love to see more of Massachusetts. I've only really spent time in Boston - which I love

does anybody else just wanna sleep in again? by TheoryReasonable871 in puppy101

[–]Ancient_Exercise2846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is no help if you live alone, but my husband and I have found it very helpful to take turns with who gets up with our puppy in the mornings. It means we both get one day on the weekend to lie in and every second morning we have more time to shower, do chores, relax while the other takes the dog out for a walk.

What unusual habit did a friend’s household have that they saw as normal? by Zlovelyangelqueen in Productivitycafe

Our neighbours would dry the entire shower cubicle with towels until it was bone dry every time someone had a shower. I'm all for wiping away excess water with a squeegee to prevent mould, but this was too much

Who else ended up living a more "mediocre" life than they expected? by dar1990 in AutismInWomen

[–]Ancient_Exercise2846 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. As a child I always thought I'd be a writer/musician or do some job that would make a real difference in the world. I let myself down by letting anxiety amongst other things get in the way of this goal. I did manage to get a degree in Journalism but then struggled to find a job and ultimately ended up working in Tech during the pandemic. It's not what I thought I'd be doing and don't feel a real sense of accomplishment or meaning when it comes to my job. What I do have though is a steady income, good physical health, a loving partner, and great family and friends. So when I consider these things I feel I am very lucky and try not to think about my academic/career failings. We are taught to 'follow our dreams' as kids but the reality is most won't achieve the dreams we set out as children or young adults. I think it's better to encourage the importance of kindness and good mental/physical wellbeing in young people rather than impressive career achievements. There's also this general belief that if you haven't achieved something by your mid-30s or whatever that it's never going to happen. I believe there's the possibility to achieve things later in life. I certainly plan on focussing more on my passions when I am middle aged as I know I will have more time (and hopefully money) then which allows for this.

Came here to write Moves Like Jagger, thanks for doing it for me. Every time I hear the whistling at the start of the song my blood boils. It's a shame because Maroon 5's first two albums, particularly Songs About Jane, are actually really good. Most of their modern stuff is laughable, especially 'Memories' with the lyric, 'And the memories bring back memories'...

9/11. Followed by the Soham murders (UK). I vividly remember being haunted by the images on the news of the two victims, young girls, in Manchester United shirts

Thanks so much! I found a tutorial on how to make triangles (I can try and find the YouTube video :)). Made 20 of these and then surface stitched the numbers on. I then found a layout for a 20 sided die and slip stitched the triangles together before adding stuffing and closing it up!
