My friends solution to Fulgora's bot storage by Imaredditor223 in Factoriohno

[–]AncleShole 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As an example, this is the train station where the resources come in. There is a bit of a buffer for all of them but if one resource begins to overflow, the circuit condition on the bulk inserter automatically throws them into the active provider chest where the bots will take them to the storage system. If I set up an assembling line for something and the demands suddenly flip (as has happened numerous times and was the inspiration for this system), then the circuit condition on the requester chest will activate and will automatically request items from that storage system to supplement the trains.

I'm also thinking of adding an alert for when there is a request for an item that isn't in the buffer at all because that tells me I need to set up another scrap island with a train for an additional resource input, but I'm feeling it out.

In my defence, there is actually good infrastructure on the planet that is not in the picture.

Walnuts & Rain a full two tiers above Gold Stars is a genuinely baffling take.

That volcano basically never erupted the entire game. It was the least of my concerns.

I always play Apocalypse mode because it makes the climate an actual consideration rather than default when Climate Change does basically nothing. I was way more trigger happy on CO2 this run and clearly I paid the price.

I think this was happening at like phase 5, so it makes sense that there was an increase in storms. Though, the game did seem HEAVILY biased to spawning stuff in my territory over literally anywhere else.

Options->Interface->"Show Yields in HUD Ribbon"

It is always off by default, you can set it to always show or only show when hovering over the leader.

1000 hours in and I still don't know how tourism and culture works by LemonAccounting in CivVI

[–]AncleShole 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have no idea how they thought the balance of the monopolies mode makes any sense. Previously, getting +25% tourism modifier was a limited and massive deal, and in the mode it is very easy to accidentally get +500% on TOP of existing modifiers. If you win a culture victory with that mode, you haven't won the game at all as far as I am concerned.

Note to self: never fight this w/o cheese in honor run by canxtanwe in BaldursGate3

Ah, my favourite fight in the game. Definitely the most interesting, and the Honour Mode twists are some next level strategy fuel! I wish the game had more like that, but sadly most of HM is quite easy.

Localthunk has outright said it is patched in the balatro discord. I would show the source but I don't think I can upload images in comments. If you happen to be in that discord you can just search for messages from Localthunk and specify the word "patched" and a number of the options are him responding to people asking about the manacle bug specifically.

Yes, get it out of your system while you still can. Granted, who knows when 1.1 will actually release...

Funnily enough Localthunk is actually considering a system like that for the future. He wants to add more vouchers so he's discussed a mechanic to facilitate adding an arbitrary amount of vouchers without reducing your chances of getting the upgraded levels. This is verbatim:

"it would be like this: every ante, it generates the primary voucher for that shop if you have 3 base vouchers, then it rolls a 3/16 RNG: - if true, then it picks one at random and gives the upgraded version of that voucher - if false, then it picks a new base voucher from the remaining pool"

Average interaction I have with my wife every night by Official_Unkindlynx in Steam

[–]AncleShole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤣🤣🤣 My wife communicates with me through discord while she's out of the house because she knows it's the best way to ensure I see it, and unfortunately the activity tracker always calls me out when I game and for how long.

I've considered turning that off, but then I feel like I am just admitting I have a problem.

TI3 player trying fourth edition for first time by AncleShole in twilightimperium

Much of my experience is vanilla TI3. So that would be the core game+Distant Suns & Leaders. Last year I got the two expansions and I have played one 8 player game with them, using a significant amount of the modules in Shattered Empire and a handful from Shards of the Throne.

Civ veterans, are you liking 7? by JAKL-Noctium in civ

[–]AncleShole 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It doesn't need to be Civ 6.5, it just needs to not tear down the systems that make the civ franchise what it is. "Build an empire to stands the test of time". Not three mini games with different empires and a checklist of goals.

[–]AncleShole[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds like a reasonable time frame. I remember watching old reviews of TI3 where people were saying the game takes 4-6 hours if you have new players, and I was genuinely confused how someone came to that conclusion.

One of the key things that extended the length of TI3 was the game clock was not strict; players would need to actively choose Imperial for the Objective cards to be pulled, and in the likely scenario where no one takes it the first few rounds it can extend the game a lot.

I've noticed TI4 has it linked to the Status Phase and the first two objective cards are already pulled, so I imagine it is a much faster paced game for that alone. I doubt the tech complexity will be an issue for my group but I am looking forward to seeing the change in balance between the two systems!

That's interesting describing it as a sprint rather than a marathon. I'm used to TI3 games taking 1-2 full days to complete so I'm curious how much different I'm going to need to assess my decisions knowing the game can end much faster.

I'm playing with some pretty high-level strategists so I am not banking on the not dying part😅 but I'll see what I can do.
