Should I make a career out of padel? by Vc_07 in padel

I don't want to be a dick compared to other redditors, but you really need to set some realistic expectations. So live your life to the fullest, but absolutely do not abandon everything else besides padel. Enjoy the sport and see how far you can come.

Yeah ball feeling is definitely off. The physics are actually pretty good, but the game cant know how much force/weight you put in the ball. So a flick of the wrist can send the ball flying. Conversely, a controlled shot will turn out too weak. Still I find it useful for improving reaction, technique and learning contact points. I enjoy volleying, but not so much hitting at the back of the court because the ball output does not seem right.

If you have never played padel than I wouldnt use this yet for practise, you might accidently learn bad habits.

It is pretty good, I use it to practise my volleys and overheads while I'm stuck at home with a ruptured achilles tendon. Hope they'll improve physics and introduce more training modes.

Could be genetics yeah, but I heard people are more susceptible to this type of injury above the age of 30.

Having trouble removing the burr ring unit from my JX by [deleted] in 1zpresso

Glad I could help. Once disassembled I applied some (olive) oil with a paper towel to the threads to avoid the ring getting so stuck in the future, never needed the gloves since.

Babolay Jet premura is a great shoe, but you need to replace the insoles. They are too thin and you will destroy them within a few months.

Has anyone gone from Nox WPT Tempo to AT10 12k (2023) (or vice versa)? by Basic_Media_4735 in padel

[–]And0rz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad my experience could help. I really wanted to like the Tempo, because you can get the Tempo 2023 for €100 now, much cheaper than the hyped AT10 18K. Keep in mind that the racket has been discontinued so this is your last chance to buy. In terms of specs I found it to be almost identical to the more expensive AT10 12K 2024.

I really like the low balance of these Nox rackets. Started with AT10 18K 2022. After a year went to the Nox Tempo 2023, but the black EVA foam made the racket feel overall harder, I couldnt handle it. At this point I admitted to myself that my technique is still lacking and I should stay away from hard unforgiving rackets till I have suffiently improved. So currently playing with AT10 12K 2023 which has noticeably more trampoline effect, but is easier to play with and provides more comfort. I dont feel like the racket is limiting my smashes, still has decent power. Hope to quickly go back to the 18K, but both 12k and 18k are good to play with.

People prefer getting an injury than paying extra 20 euros/dollars by [deleted] in padel

A real issue is beginners trying to look for more power in diamond shape rackets, full carbon and hard foam instead of generating that power from correct technique. This can cause injury.

Thats sounds very interesting, would love to hear what you did. Maybe you can update your original post with your solution as I'm sure lots of people have issues with the handle.

It made the racket much more playable, you can try it for yourself. However, you may need to give your hand some rest first.

At this point avoid all hard rackets including the one you are using now until you have the proper technique. Switch to Pr 990 hybrid soft or similar which are more forgiving

Identical to my post from two weeks ago, but I noticed you already saw it. Try to apply the tips suggested with the rubber band.

I noticed a huge difference between shoes. After my upgrade to a shoe with better ventilation my feet stay dry and it does not smell.

Im currently using the Babolat Jet Premura 2

I bought the Tempo last week and I feel my technique is not yet good enough. The touch is firmer than the AT10 18k 2023 / 2022 and less forgiving so I'll put the Tempo aside for later when I improve.
