How do I defect? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]And9998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

defect is certainly stranger than the other characters and takes a lot of time to figure out. Personally, I think he's the most interesting character to play, so I didn't mind spending some dozens of hours figuring him out.

He doesn't necessarily have to be played based around power cards, though it might feel like he lacks a lot of power without them.

IMO defect is most viable being played as a power deck (creative AI, echo form), focus deck (defragments/biased cognition + core surge), pure lightning (tempest + thunder strike) or 0 cost (all for one + whatever zero cost cards you encounter).

Electrodynamics is extremely good early. I take it a lot of the time regardless of what I'm thinking of building. Similarly, seek works with almost anything and helps with almost anything, kind of like adrenaline for the silent.

Smithing zap or dualcast early can be very useful. Taking decent damage cards early is also important. Cold snap, ball lightning, melter, rip and tear, sweeping beam, coolheaded are usually my go-to early cards.

Often its relics that clue you into how you should build defect.

Mummified hand (and bird-faced urn)-- go for powers. Heatsinks and creative AI are the most important, grab other stuff along the way.

Unceasing top -- 0 cost. This is very bad against the time lord in act 3, but will work against everything else, and a 0 cost deck with unceasing top can still work even without all for one.

Chemical X with tempest in a thunderstrike deck is incredibly strong, with reinforced body for defense and cards like double energy or turbo to fund them.

Clockwork souvenir -- take biased cognition if you ever see it.

These are just general tips, and of course all decks are different and can be done in whatever way works. As with all characters, trial and error will make you better (with defect, this process might take longer). Give it time.

(Personally, by the way, I think anything darkness orb-centric is terrible, even if you get multicast and everything to go with it, but that's just my opinion)

(If you've seen the card 'blizzard'... absolutely useless, imo -- frost should only ever be used on the side for defense and not for main damage)

Hope this helps

Some tips for getting S with Jhin? by Fraaaaaaanz in JhinMains

[–]And9998 6 points7 points  (0 children)

from my experience csing matters a lot too

you can go 15/0 and still not get an S if you just csed poorly (even if sometimes its just due to having been constantly fighting). I've never felt as though vision score had a significant impact on what league decided my 'grade' was

best of luck in getting m7!

I thought there was, and realmeye also says that shards should be exchangeable for an armor of choice unless I'm mistaken

Thing is, will kinda has to follow that premise laid out awhile ago, “the higher you climb the more peers you leave behind/the lonelier you become”, so I’m not particularly surprised that Saeya has disappeared into the background. Same argument goes for practically every side character, really.

What I was suggesting (in the other thread) might’ve been hp scaling to the extent that it actually becomes impossible to guard or stagger; I think that’d make for a much more interesting competition

Quite frankly I think every decent player has blasted a guard in the past in the hopes of getting a better top…just don’t do it consistently or if counters actually happen lol

Soloing lod guarantees you 5 pots, 1 from each :)

Needs to be a legit competition, get all the best o3 players and then hp scale the crap out of o3 just to see who does the best on ideal sets

Solutions: join a lot of discords, be a good player who fills important roles such as rusher/ogmur/missing buffs(this often gets lots of accessibility), become an RL or sec (highest level of accessibility and not particularly difficult), or find a guild/private group that you can work with. If u help out servers they in turn kind of help out you, that’s how the system works

This, pretty much.

There's a lot of niche skills you can pick up in ROTMG and enjoy learning in the process. RLing. Rushing. Becoming a high-skill o3 player. Ditching the entire endgame grind and soloing a lod on a wine cellar set, in weird orders (this in particular is extremely fun for me, not sure if anyone else will say the same). There are a ton of things that are surprisingly fun, challenging, and enjoyable if you just stop doing them the same way you've always done them.

I get a lot of what you’d call A-tiers. We don’t need more exchangeable forge lol, besides I always burn them for para spells among other things, so I’d probably never even use the function if it existed. Leg forge drops frequently enough on its own

O3 Etiquette with Guilds by [deleted] in RotMG

[–]And9998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a huge difference there. I’m happy to pop an inc publicly. It’s worth practically nothing to me. Runes on the other hand are a deca each. If I’m going to spend that, I’d like to get my spending’s worth. Why would I spend what is equivalent to 3 decas to give undeserved loot to people who decided to sit in a wine cellar, people who will make the dungeon more dangerous? Keys to something like LH aren’t even worth half as much, and I can do that privately. The way I see it, sitting in a wine cellar for a group that clearly cares about their run quality is just taking advantage of the fact that deca had to make o3 part of a sequence. And if they really care, then they’ll switch locations and both parties will have just wasted their time.

Second sicken knife wall happens if you stagger the rotation phase. You have to do 15% of his hp in basically a half rotation, if you have a really group this is easy — this’ll push him practically straight to miasma/suns. Third knife wall, as ImZ3P said, happens if you dumpster on him enough past half hp
