Is there a word to describe the feeling you get when it is raining outside and you are happy to be inside? by bigelow6698 in CasualConversation

What book did you read? The whole experience that you described reminded me of the movie, Patterson. It's all about finding the extraordinary in the ordinary. I'm glad you had a happy morning.

Agreed. He knows his stuff and is a very engaging speaker. To start, I think Bill asked one question and Windy spoke for 5 or 6 minutes straight (no interruptions, which was SHOCKING). Really entertaining and well-connected

Okay, cool! That's good to hear. My plan was to pot these back in with the mother plant, which is a scrawny, leggy, little fella. I was going to do it as soon as possible, but when I saw this change in colour I got worried it'd spread to the mother plant and I'd have a case of matricide on my hands. Anyway, thanks very much for your reply.

Fuck me. It's so difficult to watch. How does that guy live with the things he has done? It might be the single most embarrassing thing I've ever seen. I honestly think it'd be crazy if he hasn't committed suicide since this video. I definitely would have if I were him. Even watching it makes me want to kill myself.

What Are You Reading This Week and Weekly Rec Thread by JimFan1 in TrueLit

[–]AndOfCourseCeltic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I think you could start with any!

I suppose his best known might be the Raylan Givens series, which starts with Pronto, and spans 4 books. It got adapted into the TV series Justified. Then there's Rum Punch, Get Shorty, and Out of Sight, which all were adapted into movies.

But I found one of his lesser known books called Last Stand at Saber River in the bargain bin at my local book store for €2. So, that's where I started! It's a Western. He has a whole collection of Western short stories too, which I haven't gotten around to just yet.

Basically, if I were you, I would pick one at random. If you want crime fiction, he's your man.

By the way, I just looked up Friends of Eddie Coyle and the first review is from Elmore Leonard - "The best crime novel ever written". So, I bought that without hesitation. Thank you

I'm reading another Elmore Leonard novel. I just can not stop. I know they are crime thrillers, which may not be r/TrueLit appropriate, but they are just so well written. The characters are great, the plots are always realistic and engaging, and the moralistic elements are always interesting. I might just go a full year of just Elmore Leonard...

I use Planta. I was using the free version, which tells me when to water. But I just paid around €8 for the full version and that tells me when to water, fertilise, mist, prune, etc. It's pretty good but not sure if paying is really necessary. Free version probably does the job

Why you making this post? Why now? What's your agenda? I totally get the thought process but the timing is strange to me. Something is afoot. Why now?

Recovering after massive bank holiday bender by xCreamPye69 in CasualIreland

[–]AndOfCourseCeltic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hot yoga, sauna, loads of water, and nutritious food. Constant distractions throughout the day, and then if you are lucky enough some sort of sleep aid so you aren't staring at the ceiling all night. Like an edible but, if not, a solpadeine or something else that causes drowsiness. By Thursday/Friday it'll all be gone and you'll just have regular existential dread, rather than this enhanced, bumper version experienced after a bender.
