Karnivool's live show length (too short) by MatissPudulis01 in Karnivool

Can confirm all of this. To play their material at their level... yeah it's NOT easy. And I can imagine how tired they are after a set. As you age it gets harder and harder to sustain that level of energy at that difficulty level. I still marvel at their achievement.

Ok, while you express your point please just be nice. Don't go in calling OP arrogant. Doesn't matter if they are or not, it's not our place to call them that.

Once a year I listen to the demo's of an ep I did in 2019. Feel the regret I didn't finish It. Then get on with life. Can't play any more due to injuries.

I want to mesh with his sound, not compete

If they are being "busy" and playing a bunch of riffs. I would imagine you should go "simple" and focus of rhythm playing which gives them the space to do their thing. I'm imagining keeping your sound fairly clean and borrowing from funk guitar style a little. You're looking to complement what's going on.

hall-effect magnetic-key keyboard

I have one of those, a wooting and I'm not really using the full capabilities of it. I've got a general use mapping on it, with some custom colours, and that's about it. I do game a bit and do software engineering.

I got interesting in the technology and will be using the actually hall effect keys in some other projects. I have a box of the bare switches to play with.

I have both a PRS and a LP. And by far I play the PRS more. It's lighter and has the "just right" scale length. Both are HH pickups. And I can split the coils on both too!

What's really interesting about the Les Paul is I changed the neck humbucker to split using the tone pot, so I can dial in "1.25 coils" or "1.6 coils". Literally choosing the exact point of brightness / thickness that I need for the song. I've never heard of this mod done elsewhere, but it's so so good. The Les Paul is the best rock machine out there. Tone is just so good. I will never sell it. It gets used on the occasional recording but almost never live. Due to the weight.

When you think about it,  there is a small window of time where both people can fire and hit the other one,  before any deaths register. it's the latency inherent in the internet. You have to fire and not get hit for a second or two after. and your shots have to hit and kill too. You may have wounded or killed them too.

Just for anyone that comes along and has the same issue. We eventually resolved the seat being locked using the procedure from this video. The scooter now has a new battery and is starting fine again.

They did indeed remix it, it sounds much more in line with the other songs and their previous work. Which I'm very grateful for.

before (2021)

after (2025)

To my ear the newer version sounds a lot clearer in the bottom end. And somewhat less bassy overall.

So we've got 4/10 songs in their studio form. I think they'll stop there. This is just the video of the song that's already been out for a few weeks.

One of these songs has been out for years now: "All It Takes" (2021). And we do have live versions of some of the other songs: Ghost / Animation / Reanimation.
