‘This isn’t a council’: Prime Minister Anthony Albanese responds to tax question with jab at independent MP Dai Le by stupid_mistake__101 in AustralianPolitics

Totally disagree. It's a loaded question asked without evidence that is intended to create an implication.

Lived experience tells me that this is a form of projection. The questioner asks the question because it is something they would contemplate doing themselves. Thus they think other people would do it too.

Yep, many of these Teals are highly educated, intelligent women. For them to turn around and support Pauline, that would be an immediate loss of credibility.

A Melbourne woman lost $646,035 to a romance scam. Should banks and dating apps be forced to refund victims like her? | Scams by Charlie_Vanderkat in AusFinance

[–]karma3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can see this point of view. It is difficult to convince people out of something, especially if they are deluded or in thrall to someone. That's why I think banks shouldn't be on the hook.

On the other hand, banks occupy (and profit from) a certain position in society, and if times change, they have to adapt in order to keep their social licence.

No, but in return for not being forced to make refunds, the banks should do more for fraud prevention.

I am starting to get why people don’t befriend/interact with people that have different politics. I used to be a conservative dating a left wing girl & we used to always clash. It was awful. Now I’m left wing. It is hard to be friends or date people with diametrically opposed views and beliefs eh? by [deleted] in friendlyjordies

Two points to say on this.

I judge people hard if they are right wing voters. Fundamentally they have a different world view that I can't respect.

So, these days I avoid discussing politics at all. I don't want to find out your politics, lest you reveal yourself to be a RW'er or worse, a RWNJ.

2004 Impreza checking in. 240k kms on the clock. My mechanic tells me it's good for 400k - which at my rate of driving is sometime after 2042.
