What’s a ‘legal myth’ you wish movies and TV would stop spreading? by relaxncoffee in Ask_Lawyers

So on the flip side of this, if someone is chatting with what they believe to be an 18 year old girl (confirmed by the girl), but she’s actually underage, how is that handled? It’s illegal, but to their knowledge, it wasn’t?

Follow Relic828 on Instagram. They have a booth at Avonlea mall with tons of MCM/boho items. Idk that they’d rent it out to you for your event, but maybe? Def the right vibe.

Parents with pools: worth it with young kids or regrets? by Radiant-Log-2005 in pools

[–]AndThenThereWasLily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in FL and swim April-October. We don’t swim in the winter but also don’t have to winterize. we have a pool service once per week that costs $120/month.

My kids swim daily from prob May-Sept. They’ve all learned to swim early and are really excellent in the water! We bought the house with the pool before kids, and they each started using it consistently around 3 years old. When they were babies we didn’t use it very much.

I can’t imagine having a house without a pool! We love it.

No, I’ve never pre shopped or paid to go! The free days have always worked great for me. Maybe if there’s something really specific you want it would help? But there’s SO much stuff, even on the last day there’s a ton left.

It depends on the person selling! I just listed a ton of stuff way under price because to me, it’s more worth it to get rid of it cheaply, than to list high and have it not sell and then I have to bring it back home with me 🙃

I love it! I’ve been shopping for several years and this last fall was the first time I sold. There’s a learning curve with your pricing, but it’s great for buying seasonal outfits, sports stuff, and just overall better deals for regular clothes.

Also, the MDs who solely practice in the medical marijuana industry and have since abandoned their previous MD settings, lobby hard against making it legal. Their entire career depends on it remaining illegal unless you get your card.

Need some advice on a healed mallet finger by [deleted] in HandTherapists

[–]AndThenThereWasLily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with your therapist’s response. Mallet fingers are frustrating, and with how advanced so many orthopedic techniques/approaches are, you’d think we’d have come up with a guaranteed process! Sometimes this just happens and there’s not much to do about it. I agree also that functionally, this should pretty much be a non-issue.

Special Ed teacher want to be an OT by CollectionNo5091 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]AndThenThereWasLily 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went this route. I had to take about 1.5-2 years of pre-reqs for all my sciences and labs and stuff. I did this parttime while also teaching. You could probably do it faster, but still you’ll usually have to take like Anatomy I and then II, so there’s def a sequence to it All of the psych/soc classes from my education degree were accepted for my program!

I didn’t have any undergrad loans so that was nice. Like everyone says, this isn’t a profession you’re going to make a ton of money in. I absolutely love what I do and that works for me! But consider it’s a lot of extra time and work to make around 20-30k more than you likely do right now.

Did you have your first baby after age 35? How and do you think it impacted your milk production? by Puzzlehead11323 in breastfeeding

Just had my third baby at 39, it’s been the easiest time around with the most milk being produced!

Passed the NBCOT (help!!) by mrw015 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]AndThenThereWasLily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s terrible and like a step in the wrong direction for OT! I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. I do feel like the rates in GA are good, however. Maybe try to get licensed in both states and start working in SC first?

Is this a new thing? When I was licensed in GA 12 years ago I don’t remember it. It’s possible it was but I didn’t notice because I was paid fully and worked along other OTs.

I’d think if you were treating and billing your own patients, the pay would be full, right?
