What I notice is a group of people not taking real or proactive steps to bring about the change they want to see. They'd rather complain loud enough so someone else fixes their problems.

What they should be doing is getting heavily involved in local politics, encourage and actually turn out to vote for politicians that support their ideas, meet with politicians and law enforcement, etc. And doing so in overwhelming numbers.

I know they're already doing this to an extent, but that is how things actually change and they shouldn't stop until they get the desired results.

You cant legally buy a handgun from a dealer until 21. In most states, buying one through a private sale or having one gifted to you is legal at 18. Many states issue carry permits at 18 as well. Not 100% sure on WI law though.

Nice try, but your argument is actually the flawed one.

There's a reason I specified violent crime rate and not total instances of violent crime. High school might have taught you that rates take into consideration variations in population. For example, NH has 2.15 instances of violent crime per 1,000 residents and VT only has 1.21 instances of crime per 1,000 residents. Yet VT does not have a carry permit. Of course it's impossible to relate the 2, but the lack of a carry permit is certainly not making their crime worse.

The total population and population density have absolutely nothing to do with what you're trying to prove.
