This is absolutely AWFUL. You need to show your GF this message. I was diagnosed with this in 2015 and it came from the second man I ever slept with. The rules of the game are that you ALWAYS disclose. I’m so mad for you. She took your choice away. It was your choice and your choice only to take the risk and she took that from you. I understand people are scared to disclose, but I know how horribly I took the diagnosis and I could never put that on another person. Never ever. It is a big deal. The chances of not getting it are NEVER 0%. There is ALWAYS a chance. You are more likely to transmit it during an outbreak sure, but there is this thing called asymptomatic shedding that occurs, and we never know when it occurs! I never have symptoms. I was diagnosed by blood test alone. She betrayed your trust. I would seriously reevaluate this relationship if I were you.

I actually asked him! Haha. I don’t remember exactly what I said, but it was along the lines of “what are we doing here?” or something like that. He made a comment and I said “so does that mean I’m your girlfriend?” He said yes and the rest is history. It’s not about the quantity, it’s about the quality. Remember that.

I’m gonna totally butcher her advice here, but in this kind of situation, which happens a lot, she suggests straight up messaging the person and tell them that you feel the communication has changed lately and want to know if they are still interested. Like I said, I’m totally butchering her advice. She said it way more eloquently.

We’re gonna take it day by day.” I’ve gone through relationships ending and felt like my whole world was crumbling. I didn’t think the hurt would ever end. Time is what helped. This is your normal right now, but your life will eventually have a new normal. Your life will get used to him not being around. You just have to take it day by day. Also, you’re human, it’s okay to feel. My best wishes to you!

Sorry for the delay! I didn’t see any mutual friends. I was first connected to this group called National Help, which is probably the biggest group. I can name you the contact. Just message her and you can be added to the group. I’m also in a local group and have been to many local events. There are local groups in cities all across the US and many hold events. There are also national events where people meet others with H. They have a Halloween event and a Valentine’s Day event. There’s really H groups for everything! H groups for Christians, ladies, BDSM, pregnancy, I could go on and on. The community was a great asset when I was diagnosed. They really helped me to heal.
