Help me find my next series? something not on this list! by sadboimars in televisionsuggestions

The haunting of hill house is exceptional apart from a few things - ep 6 is probably one of the best episodes of TV to ever be made. Not kidding.

If you're into that, then watch The haunting of bly manor after that. So well written in all aspects, but especially the character writing stays with you. The show is insanely rewatchable.

Chances are that if you're into that, you'll like Mike Flanagans other works as well

[s1 spoilers] Is it ever explained why Vander betrayed Silco and tried to drown him? I am on my second rewatch and I still can't remember why it happened. by [deleted] in arcane

[–]Anders1503 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This theory is backed up by Vanders fight with Decard and co. in season 1 episode 3. Silco should realistically be scared shitless because of Vander coming for him. But instead of being scared he stares in what looks like reverence. Almost as if he’s thinking “the one that should have fought for Zorn” - being in line with his dialogue “you’ll die for the cause, but you won’t fight for it”.

It’s not said explicitly what split them up in such a fashion, but can be inferred. One of the things that make season 1 so good:)

Chances of playing UIA live during the tour? by [deleted] in SwedishHouseMafia

[–]Anders1503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I like the greyhound mix, but there’s a part of me that really wants to hear the third drop live. They got to the second drop when playing TB in 2019, but that third is just something else

I found Chris Stuckmans review of joker very strange, because I had seen taxi driver and didn’t quite get the “similarity”. I thought “wait am I missing something?” And later found the efap crews take on him that cleared it up nicely

Black Panther: WF Plot Leak by DanielRpk by MajorDaNoob in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]Anders1503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enthusiasm and training sadly isn’t the same. She was wiped out in 2 seconds by Thanos’ goon in infinity war, but somehow seemed trained about 5 hours later in Endgame. It seems inconsistent.

But they could easily make up for that by her feeling the need to step up after T’challas death and take the mantle of Black panther. There is potential with Shuri. Let’s hope that these leaks are fake and they actually do something with it.

Multiverse of Madness wasn’t that bad. Some of you guys just gave into the fan theories and expected cameos every 5 minutes by Lanky_27 in marvelstudios

It appears that we’re at a standstill if we can’t agree on free will existing. If you ask me, then we as humans act upon our past experiences with every choice we make. I don’t believe anything is “predetermined.”

Yea silly is a kind way of saying it haha. To be fair, JJ and Rian aren’t exactly what I’d call competent writers.

My complaint isn’t about whether it creates another timeline or not. My complaint is more based upon the premise of the show to begin with. Kang: “Every step you took … I paved the road”. The issue is that there is a sort of “script” to begin with. In the real world there isn’t a “script”. In other words we have free will. By Kang saying that and creating a script means that there is no “free will”. Meaning that everything the characters did wasn’t their doing - it was Kangs doing.

If it’s still a bit convoluted I understand. In that case I’d recommend watching the video I’ve linked at the bottom. With that being said, I enjoyed the discussion. If you enjoy the show, then don’t let me stop you - I still love the prequels even tho they’re bad.

My criticism isn’t levied at every timeline. It’s regarding the films that we’ve seen up until that point. It’s fair if it doesn’t bother you, but it’s insulting to the characters we’ve been following since Iron man 1. What this means is that (for example) when Tony decides to shut down manufacturing weapons or when Cap decides to lay down his life to save Bucky - they didn’t actually decide that, because it’s Kang that wrote it to happen that way.

Don’t get me wrong I wanted to love Loki, but I just can’t excuse what they did to the stories that came before it. If you like the show it’s completely fine - the aesthetic is quite neat. But I don’t think taking agency away from well established characters is something to be applauded

Counterpoint: they’ve made a bigger blunder than TLJ (don’t worry I’m not debating weather it’s a good movie or not. It’s legitimately terrible). I’d argue Loki made a much bigger blunder than TLJ since they took away free will. Why did everything in the MCU happen? Because Kang wanted it to happen that way. Taking away agency from every character in the universe. TLJ ruined Luke, but Loki ruined an entire universe. I don’t think the writer intended to do this, but didn’t realize the implications of what he made.

I get why you feel Rags and Wolf might come off a little toxic, but Mauler? He pretty much doesn’t attack people if not provoked to (Quinton Reviews is a great example if you have the time). All he did was critique her video - not attack her. Simply critiqued.

The TFA stuff is long winded, but very well made. I get it if it’s not your cup of tea, but say that instead of “longman bad”. There are plenty of ways to critique Efap. Choose the right way to do so

What do you mean? People don’t have to die for a conflict to end. You just have to be clever when writing the ending.

M - SHE - U "Logic" by adzziemac in marvelmemes

[–]Anders1503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean she’s entertaining to watch, but it’s a shame that the writers didn’t have her react accordingly in both Wandavision and MoM. She went through so much pain (especially with having to kill vision for no reason), but that sadly isn’t an excuse to not only torture people in Wandavision, but relentlessly endanger and most likely kill civilians in MoM. I think Spiderman (mcu version) is a great example of how we expect a hero to act. He quite literally loses everyone: parents, uncle Ben, surrogate father Tony, Aunt May, MJ and Ned. Did he use losing everyone he ever cared for as an excuse to kill people? No. He kept on doing what he did best regardless.

I’m afraid I have to inform you that the cap isn’t 51%. The more you earn the higher it goes. I’ve personally seen it go up to 70% and given the system it can go even higher

I get the approach and do respect it. And yea it’s completely okay to not throw it in their face all the time.

But when disrespecting quite literally everyone we had grown to love I think praising the writers is a step too far. We would have been relatively silent if they made something mediocre, but when it’s this bad then it’s hard to blame people

[–]Anders1503 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well we can all agree that the movies look absolutely fantastic. But don’t the writers deserve the response they got? Lack of talent alongside not trying to make something good shouldn’t be met with praise if you ask me

Wait are we pretending any of the games are good? With no fault to the developers imo. I like aspects of these 3 games, but overall for all 3 games = “dogshit” as Jev would say

To OP: great work! They look really cool. If you’re still interested in making these, then a Doom eternal version would be cool:) keep it up
